Yeah, I recently went there. didn't really see anything besides some tennis courts at south portland ave and the fence has five gates to them. I could have missed something else, but that's really all I saw.

I was thinking of that place also. How big is it, and how desolated are some spots? Is it somewhere it could realistically be buried or would you be in front of a million people at all spots staring at you?

You guys/girls are all driving me crazy - I thought you would have found the gold by now.

Has anyone been to the imagination park where the crows nest is (In Manhattan)? (And shovels? I am sure someone must have been - so apologize if I missed it.
"Crow's Nest Delivered by Barge to Imagination Playground at Burling Slip!Friday, June 18, 2010 | Gowanus Canal, Hudson River, Burling Slip

On Friday June 18, the Crow's Nest was delivered via barge to the Imagination Playground construction site at Burling Slip in lower Manhattan! The photos show how it traveled from the Gowanus Canal, through the Hudson River past the Statue of Liberty, and then set in place at the playground. This is only one of the major developments occurring on-site—we can't wait to see kids playing with it in late July!"

"loose parts such as burlap bags, buckets, shovels, brooms, carts and fabric are incorporated within the play activities. And to reflect the proximity to the East River, buckets, sandbags and wooden dams have been integrated into the water play."

http://imaginationplayground.org/photos/

Edit, it had a webcam but look like they took it out
Edit: Also, the loose parts of the park went on tour at all 5 of the bouroughs
Saturday June 19 & Sunday June 20: Bloomingdale Park (Staten Island)

Saturday June 26 & Sunday June 27: Playground for all Children, Pelham Bay Park (Bronx)

Saturday July 10 & Sunday July 11: Yellowstone Playground (Queens)

Saturday July 17 & Sunday July 18: Carl Schurz Park Playground (Manhattan)

Saturday July 24 & Sunday July 25: Pierrepont Playground (Brooklyn)
EDIT: I saw a video and the sand doesn't look like it woud be diggable, sorry - for little kids.

Message in bottles

Hello all.

So... awhile back there was discussion about "messages in bottles" found in Central Park. Yesterday, my kids and I were there... just "retracing the steps" again for good measure, and we found one. It was tucked in the bushes near the third lamp post.

The kids were really excited, but having been on this forum for awhile, I was under the impression that these were a hoax? Anyway... some people expressed an interest in seeing the message, so I scanned it and am attaching it here.

It's pretty well done. Looks official enough. I understand this still could be a hoax, but all this recent talk of "gifts" made me second guess my second guessing.

Thoughts?

Letter...

Crothers is misspelled. On the website, it's Crothers. On the letter, it's CrUthers.

Hmm yea Crothers is spelled wrong and the entirety of the letter doesn't really make sense. i think someone else found one there so someone's been replanting them after someone's found them. To check this theory I'd check the flower bed by columbus as well.

I'd agree that this reeks of forgery.

Another example, end of second, and third paragraph, the Cap'n starts saying you instead of ye.

Most importantly, based on what is written on the website and the facebook page, there's NO WAY these people would go through all of the hard work and effort to be caught in a ridiculous situation of lies and deception where only a few random people would have a leg up on the rest of the audience.
Throw it back in the briny sea! (But, THANKS FOR SHARING!)

Yeah, no more confirmation codes!

Spaniard, very interesting research.

Has anyone else noticed the "squid" on their website that looks as if it is blowing a horn with one of its tentacles?

I know we are not supposed to bring up this topic regarding gifts etc. But am I supposed to believe that the little things that are left behind or moved about in the videos are intentional. Couldn't they have been an oversight?
