 During the Game's Frequent Intermissions
A time to re-examine clues, post new theories, discuss the overall game

Since we have a lull in the "game" I've been looking over Mysterio's claim to Josh that (Josh), "must take down those sales listings. Anything you found may be important."

We've opined regarding the differences regarding the clock before, but taking a look again at the clock—and bear in mind that though Josh said that it worked, it may have been his father that left the clock in its precise format, with second, minute, and hour hands where they are positioned, and if so, why?

So, here's the photo of the estate sale clock:
http://forums.unfiction.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=29773&start=405

To me, there is a pattern—what it is, I'm not sure. Confused

For example, I observe the second hand at 24 seconds after, and the minute hand at 24 minutes till the next hour. Shocked

From the second hand, it is 6 seconds before the "6" (on the clock), and 6 minutes from the "6" (on the clock) to the minute hand.

There are 12 "measurements" between the second hand and the minute hand.

Hour hand at 57.5 minutes after the hour. (If the hour hand was right at the "12," and the minute and second hand were where they are depicted in the photo, there would be no doubt that there was a precise pattern--the clock would have to be broke for such a configuration, though.)

Given the hour at 11, the hour hand is equidistant between 11 and 12. You could look at it as 11.5, or 11 ½ . Given that the hour is not 11 am, but 11 pm, the military time would be 23, and looking at it as I did (if it was 11 am), it could be seen as 23.5, or 23 ½.

I've ran some of these numbers through the integer calculator that Multi posted on the sticky, and haven't come up with anything that seems to be an "ah, ha" moment.

So, what do you think? A deliberate pattern? If so, to what end?

Yes!

No?

Maybe so.

There's a whole lot of sixes going on in there!

The first is multiplied by itself.
The second is the first minus six.
The third is the difference between the first and second.

11x11=121
121-6=115
121-115=6

The same goes for 23 ...

23x23=529
529-6=523
529-523=6

It's all mathematical, until someone pokes an eye out.

@Xeno

Who knows, perhaps there are really elements we've still overseen. This clock stuff looks interesting. I'm also thinking about... wait, the Joshs Calendar?
Can we eventually find the date - looking for rare fish occurence? (Perhaps I'll be trouted, since I haven't read the "Time" thread, I'll do it right now)

@RasGold
Hehe, Ras, please, don't confuse people. I know, these fan fiction looks amazing, but... you know Wink

They won't be ready to make it through another Aladygma anymore Wink

If the clock was set to a time (and stopped there) as a frame of reference, maybe that was the time of our train wreck. It was pretty late at night.

JJ does love to play with numbers, especially 6.

Time of train crash?

Euchre;

The thought of the clock indicating the time of the crash had crossed my mind and it very well could be, but with that news report saying (in effect) that the film was about "how a train crash brings a town together" would seem to indicate that the residents of Lillian (if the crash occured near Lillian--which may be a big if) might know the general time of the crash.

And what I've wondered is if the clock does indicate the precise time of the wreck, what salient point would that bring to the game? If it is related, time will tell.

The alignment of the hands of the clock just seems more than coincidental and I can't help but think that there is something that we're just not recognizing yet that blasted clock!

And if it was Josh's father that made sure the clock's hands are where we see them, and his father intended for one of his children* (or some other person/s)--Mysterio?) to find the clock, what would he think that they would "see" in that clock?

*I've thought for some time that there may be a sibling(s) of Josh's that is key in the movie, and perhaps didn't survive the event.

Could there be something related to the number 11 other than the movie's scheduled release in 2011?
The clock is within the 11th hour. The HD teaser was made available on May 11. The countdown on scariestthingieversaw.com ended at 11 pm. The minicomputer is a PDP-11. Even the town name Lillian seems to have an 11 in it --- Li11ian. Someone noted that JJ had a thing for 6. In binary, 6 is 110, and the four-bit binary code for 6 is 0110. And the gaf Super 8 camera in the picture below was recently spotted in Lillian. Check the model number– ST/111 E.

Rocket Mountaineer,

An interesting take on the "11"!11!

Just curious, where was the camera seen in Li11ian?

I walked into a Weirton business that's on set for Main St. Lillian. It will be a camera and hifi shop in the movie. The set design people haven't worked their magic on it yet, but they did clear out the real merchandise and had tables and boxes of cameras and stereo equipment. By chance, I looked over and saw the gaf Super 8 camera lying on a table near a pile of still cameras. It was fate! Here's a picture of the outside of the shop. (And here's another 11 connection.)

Camera shop

Rocket Mountaineer;

Thanks, these insider photos are super--8 is never enough! Just don't get lost on this seemingly impossible mission--who knows, you may become a star! Trek through Lillian lurking along the fringe of the sets, using an alias snapping these shots, and shoot the right one and the felicity you experience may be likened to "rolling in clover"! Field any offers to purchase your pics carefully and you'll have all of the little darlings pursuing you forever. Young and old will kneel before thee! Laughing

Seriously, was the shop a camera/music store before? If so, was it the name?

Thanks again Rocket Mountaineer, aka Agent 11

Worshippy Kudos on the word play!

I am having some serious fun.
The Lillian camera shop is normally an electric supply company called Weirton Electric Supply.

For good little Poppeteers, it looks like the lull is over - for now.
As for Agent 11 -- I will LURK ON!

Been trying to do some prolific searching to make sure I don't repeat information, but has anyone tried to compile the distinct unique features of the various sea creatures featured on HLM?

Each could be a piece of what the monster is supposed to be like.

Poisonous Spines comes up a lot
See-through flesh
Adaptation to environment, camo
Can leave the water
Large teeth is frequent
One organism that is really multiple ones surviving off of each other(the man o war)
Very fast, very strong despite size

Pre-emptive Trout in case I did not search hard enough.

surely as this is just a "chat" thread, there's no room for Trouts, it is, as the first post indicates a place to re-hash old ideas, so please hold the fish course.

I'm still really interested the numbers from the trailer!!!

Significance of RP

If we're to assume (which I think we're pretty much all on board with) that Mysterio set up the STIES site/console/whatever, among the first posts (that we're aware of) was the newspaper pages.

We were able to find a phrase. Has that really led anywahere? Not yet.

The only thing that started the adrenaline pumping in the mysteryaholics dwelling within us was the RP ad.

Why would a 60's (and if the recent ComicCon poster is legit) and possibly 50's popsicle ad still be popular now? We didn't see a reference to a 2010 newpspaper article that very simply could have been photoshopped to contain the same phrase.

The fact that there is a website for RP makes me think that Mysterio is possibly behind that as well. That having been said, for all of you techno wizards out there, could one of the toggle switches, after be utilized to open an app that would accept the transmission of the Braegen sound file, thereby opening the next door?
