I am, but

I am familiar with the Solitaire cipher, but you definitely need Jokers for that to work, and I have seen nothing in the hands or card faces to be of any use.

I had a thought on Episode 5. Please humor me.

*It's called the WPPPT. That's an acronym for the World Puppet Pirate Poker Tour.

*Mulligan gets the Holy Mackeral or "Jesus Fish" (probably the only thing SpyGuy had a valid lead on) which is an acronym for ICHTHYS (the Roman word for FISH, wherein each letter represents a different correlation to Jesus).

*A = Aces, K = Kings, Q=Queens and J=Jacks

Now... that is has been previously said that cards on the table in Texas Hold 'em are called STREETS... are we missing ACRONYMNS here?

why does it have to be one train? go one stop south on A and switch to the E line

anyway, I have a proposed route once at Jackson Hts/Roosevelt on the E line.

From the Captain in the poker episode: "me good luck hit the end of the line. Lady luck's gone back the other direction." so go to the end of the E line (Jamaica Center) and go back one stop (Sutphin Blvd). After the bomb blows up, it uncovers a compass (the same one drawn on the map of welostourgold.com). It turns to point just west of north, so that becomes their "compass heading" (to be used later)

Next episode is Monkey Business, which starts on a beach. From Sutphin Blvd station, you can board the JFK Airtrain which ends up at Howard Beach station. In the comic: "Even if they stopped at the next port, following a close compass heading to ours should put them... right behind ye" which means go northwest from Howard Beach to get to North Conduit Ave/Aqueduct

It is generally accepted that The Black Tom episode is next, and what is spelled in the Kanji at the beginning? North Conduit maybe? The word furlongs points to horse racing, at the Aqueduct, the only racetrack in NYC limits.

Anyway, yes, I realize I'm just taking a path and fitting clues to justify it, but hey, it's brainstorming.

I also like the splitting up theory. In the poker episode, the Captain ends up having a "Featured Player" segment (with the "Since I won that parrot me good luck hit the end of the line. Lady luck's gone back the other direction" clue), which means this episode points to where he went. The Black Tom episode points to where he went. In the comic book, the very blatant clue: "Hold fast, Mulligan!!! Even if they stopped at the next port, following a close compass heading to ours should put them..." Captain: "right behind ye" seems to suggest that Mulligan and Crothers are together. Then Black Tom says "To catch up to you is destiny (bolded)... when our paths are meant to be one (bolded)" There also seems to be a common theme: lady luck, destiny

It makes sense, however, it seems a little put together, such as the one stop and swith and the one stop and back at Jamaica. Jamaica-beach scene in the next episode.

Merely a lesson in Japanese?

Cap'n Slim wrote:
Well... how does Black Tom's "1,2,3,4 song" and it's events refer to Episode 2, even?

Is it not merely a means to assist in translating tom's numbers from episode1 which get inserted in episode 2?

In reference to the "1,2,3,4" song

Yes, the SONG was to assist us learn to count in Japanese (which we all did by the time Episode 2 came out anyway), but...

The EVENTS of the song. The parrot, Tom flying, Mt. Rushmore, the earth, the sun exploding.....

And while we are on the subject of Ep. 2? Crother's sleeves. WTF?
