1) We've pretty much established that. On the images on the back of the Thomas Jefferson cards, we see shadowy figures that are presumably the Vespers who lit the fire.

2) They've been observing the Cahills from the shadows for 500 years, and are about to strike, since all the Clues have been found.

3) Again, they've been spying on Cahills for five centuries, and their goal has been Clues since the very beginning.

4) The 39 Clues website seems to operate from between Alaskan and Hawaiian time zones (the Iles Marquises, a French Polynesian colony, in the Pacific ocean). The codes for Into the Gauntlet wouldn't work for me until 6:00 AM Newfoundland time on August 31. NT is 5.5 hours ahead of AlT and 6.5 hours ahead of HT. You'll probably be able to access the mission between 5:30 and 7:30 PM tomorrow, if my calculations are accurate.

Mission 10 is up and running.

For Janus, notice the arrows that rotate the figure. I was able to finish the first 2 rounds without rotating, but I had to rotate to get enough points on round 3 in order to advance.
I also got faster on my 3rd attempt, and racked up the speed match bonus.

For Tomas, I didn't have any tricks. I just tried to keep my cursor going straight up, and towards the basket. If I started making too many misses, I tweaked my aim.

I was able to finish, and become a Madrigal.
Agent MadrigalOperative1 , I'm still on the list of Newest Madrigal Operatives, but it probably won't last another hour.

I finished it - that Janus puzzle was definitely the hardest just because it was so easy to run out of time on the third stage.

The Ekat game was pretty much a joke in how easy it was to get the qualifying score.

Tomas game I got on my first try, but it was mostly because I learned to adjust better and better as it went around to the different spots - the Globetrotter balls give you more time.

The Lucian puzzle wasn't hard, but I didn't realize we were working under two different time limits and lost on my first go through because of it - killed it the second time.

I think I finished mission ten 19th overall because the list goes to twenty, but when I was added to it - it was only up to 19.

Lucian was the only one I got! Once I realised you had to do it in order... I'm stuck with 30 seconds for level 2 for the Janus level. They should reset the timer. Tomas is hard. Ekaterina is annoying. I might get help from them. (If I'm going to be a Madrigal... Uniting people?)

Finally completed Ekat and Janus. Without help. Now for Tomas. I might need help for that.

Correction. I won Tomas with 150 points on my own.

Well, I'm playing Mission 10 right now. I made a killing in the Lucian and Ekat games, but barely beat the Janus game, and the Tomas game is still tripping me up. Evil or Very Mad

The trick seems to be getting the combo scores, especially the speed one, as much as possible.

The second level is easier for that than the other two since more of the cubes are clickable right off the bat. You kind of have to look to what you'll be removing next while clicking to really keep it going.

I finished 17th overall - Agent Detective Cipher2.

Mission released at 1930 IST. Started playing at 2000. Finished by 2030.

The Janus was hard and annoying. On second attempt, final score was 7950. Ultimately finished by 8175.

Ekaterina was boring. Got a 400+ in first round itself, then played it easy.

Lucian was the easiest. Finished with double the Goal Score.

For Tomas, just drag the ball upwards. No need to change angle at all. On first attempt, didn't realize that the ball could be moved. Embarassed

When I finished, I posted my previous post. Then a bitter disappointment - my mission hadn't been updated. Had to play the damn thing all over again. Finished in 15 min.

Arthur Trent and Shep Trent were cousins, not brothers. He was just called 'Uncle Shep.'
We'll have to see if Uncle Shep appears again.
