Cheers doc, I know he said he'd recorded his dog whining and scratching. Oh, one thing he did mention to me though was that the dog had been barking or whining one night and when he went to see what it was something shot through the house, said it looked like a "big white possum" had gotten in to the house but it was gone in seconds so he assumed he'd been dreaming.

hahaha well i really want to get a Great Dane, amazing dogs. I also like border collies, blue healers (Australian Shepard) and Huskies. Sparky is my first dog, shes probably about 12.  		I can't stop laughing at that e-mail. I love these guys. The way they remain huge kids even while they're stalked by a supernatural enemy from beyond human comprehension (or two) is so endearing.

Not going to lie, I wouldn't refuse an invitation to see Evan's big knife. Oh wait...

More seriously, I think it's part of the whole 'denial' act the other two have going on - Damsel takes Slenderman pretty seriously, and so does Evan, while Jeff and Vin are still trying to pretend it's something a bit less supernatural.

EDIT: also, if it really wasn't a "big white possum", it would be interesting to see how much time ago it happened. Because it would show that the Rake thing has been going after the guys for a while, even when we thought it was just the Slenderman. Or at least after Alex.

 		I'm almost certain the crawly thing is the Rake or, is an original EMH creation inspired by the Rake. The appearance is consistent with the creepypasta, there's the soundtrack reference, and both EMH and the Rake creepypasta have a character mentioned in a letter and named Linnie or something similar. Besides, it makes sense that the people who write a Slenderman story would know about other such entities.

Personally I don't want it to be Slenderman. Given that we know pretty much nothing about Slendy, it is not impossible that crawling naked trough the bushes is something he does for kicks. However, it would detract from the mystique of the character. The dapper look, and unhurried demeanor is an important part of slenderlore.

The theory that the crawly thing is what happens to the sufferers of the slenderillness (like Jay in MH) if it goes on too long, appeals to me. Not sure that's a good candidate for this show's Masky, though. Looks too far gone to photoshop postcards.

On a side note, I'm leaning towards the probability of this thing being "the rake" as opposed to Habit. For all we know the dead girl could have been Habit. We're still too early in the story to know for sure who/what this is, so let's wait a while before we start assuming.

 		Okay, I'm still pretty new to this whole kind of thing, so how much of a breach of the etiquette would be to ask the guys if they know about the Rake lore?

I'm thinking to be subtle about it. Somebody (can't remember who, sorry) noticed how the "Linnie" note, the one they found in "Reunion" sounded like an answer to a letter in the Rake story that is, in fact, addressed to a Linnie. Maybe somebody could send them a note about that? Like, saying "hey, you know that note you found, could it be an answer to this?"

Just to see how much they're willing to acknowledge the resemblance, like if it's just an inspiration or they're planning to follow the Rake thing to an exent.

Jeff's brother Alex (his channel: http://www.youtube.com/user/WickedStickyAlex) had posted a weird video yesterday night - there was his dog barking and going mad at walls, him approaching a closet, heavy breathing similar to the one you can hear in the "No Body" video, a sound that has been identified with a distorted message... and then a fade to total black for four minutes.

We wondered for a while what it meant, but it seems like it was unintentional, because Alex took the video off later today and promised a better edited version sometime soon.

I'm really wondering what sort of edited video we'll be getting from Alex. A lot can happen in four minutes.

EDIT: And I think I'm the one who first posed that one letter was a direct response to the other.

 		That soundclip from Alex's video has gotten me obsessed now, especially since a cursory re-reading of the Rake's story. It's the whole letter to Linnie with "he spoke your name". I'm thinking that maybe this recording is the Rake telling Alex who the next victim is, but I can't get a name out of it.
Vanessa is the closest I've managed, my brother (who I roped in randomly) thinks maybe he's saying "good as new".
