 		Well, I haven't seen the video in question, but based on the descriptions I've heard, I think it's meant to reinforce Alex's character arc. He started with skepticism but, given that we know that IG Slendy's completely real, he can't stay a skeptic forever.

I'd say the removal of the video is Alex going trough a denial stage. Rather than accept that weird things are happening around him, he blames the four minutes of distorted-audio-blackness on some unspecified technical glitch. Storywise, this is probably setting him up for either a rude awakening to the reality of slenderlore[1] or death, just to show us how serious matters are.

@re: Slendy vs. Rake vs. King of the Monsters vs. Sharktopus

I don't think the Rake-analogue is meant to be a foe to Slenderman. At least not directly.

When I first heard of the Slender Man mythos (thank you tvtropes!) it wasn't scary at all. Then I mainlined MH in one night and lost many, many hours of sleep over it. The rake creepypasta is, intitally, scarier but, unlike the Slender Man mythos, doesn't go anywhere.

I'd love it if it was like that. It makes a lot of sense, character-wise. However, the video really was cut off abruptly, so it might have been a genuine mistake.


I don't think the Rake thingie and Slendy are supposed to be enemies - I think they're either supposed to work in a team or to be one the "product" of the other (I still like the "Rake-is-what-happens-to-victims-of-Slendy-that-don't-get-killed-for-some-reason" theory).

If anything, the Rake might be acting against the Slenderman in some slightly more subtle way (like, trying to warn the crew - the dead girl in the last video might have been a "watch out or you'll end like her" thing). But there's something off in this whole thing. I think we're not supposed to figure it out yet. If we really are just at the beginning, like the numbers on the boxes seems to suggest, then it's possible we're still missing some important piece.

If you care, development of my Tulpa pet theory - the creature is one and the same, and assumes the shape the characters would find more unsettling. It appeared as the Rake this time for its own reason, who knows, maybe to make them believe there's an entire legion of monsters after them. It hasn't attacked them yet because it's not strong enough, what with Vin and Alex still deep in denial - once he has turned them into "believers" too, it'll be able to start its killing spree.

I still think it is unlikely. If I were PM I'd make damn sure that videos I send out are as error free as possible just to avoid the confusion over IG/OOG. And we can safely assume that the EMH guys'n'gals are better at puppet mastery than me.

Also, what glitch would cause the disturbance? It has been described to me as a lot of darkness and breathing-like audio distortion, right? What causes that OOG? "Sorry guys, I accidentally left the lens cap on. And I gave my mic to the DEVIL. It happens." Wink

I'm inclined to agree. I don't have any proof, of course, but this theory seems to resonate sweetly with the style of EMH and other such slendertainment[1]

I really like EMH right now. All I'm missing is a few good puzzles to sink my teeth into. Or, at least, to watch in stupefied awe as incredibly clever forum regulars tear them to itty-bitty pieces. I sure hope EMH's version of totheark/masky kicks into high gear soon.

From the conversations I've been having with Alex he denies the slenderman completely. He reckons that every sighting of him is just distortion and that the camera is just screwy. When he put the scarecrow thing up in the other video it was just Alex trying to make Jeff laugh but obviously it backfired. He said he's tried to get more info out of Jeff about the whole thing but because Jeff always reacts in the same way, going ape shit, Alex now thinks it's all in their heads.
What I forgot to mention too, unless it was in the message from him that I posted, was that he's woken up with scratches on his legs and arms but thinks it's from his dog, which is plausible but also coincidental with the cuts on the bodies wrist.

lol, sorry, at the time it didn't seem of any importance, he'd mentioned it waaaay before that video came out, I only remembered it today.

I have a feeling poor Alex is not long for this world.

Did anyone manage to get trough to them on the whole Rake issue? I see that someone did put a link to the creepypasta on twitter and tagged it with #EMH, but I see no response from the crew. Possibly they PM'd someone?

And then, finally, a "Very Public Message" where she apologizes for being a bit snappy sometimes, blaming it on the circumstances (Jessa missing and all). She was pretty busy this morning/last night/last midnight!

For the record, that's not quite right. There was weird breathing going on from the very start, then the camera went black AND all audio stopped.

I dunno, I feel like if it was intentional he wouldn't have deleted the video.

Okay, so I'm pretty new here, but I've been following Slender man for a bit. Some of you may recognize my screen name from a few comments I posted on the "Dreams In Darkness" ARG. That being said, Hybrid is by far my favorite, and this last video was incredible. Personally, I'm in the camp that this "Rake"ish thing is what happens to Slender-Victims that stick around Slendy for too long without dying, but it may actually be the Rake in the incredibly creepy flesh, as shown by the name-drop clues that tie to Rake mythos. Unless they are saying that the Rake Myth's and the Slender-Man Myths are one and the same, which is setting up for serious mindf*** territory.

From what I hear, birth gets easier and easier each child. Plus living so close to a really good hospital, you have nothing to worry about Smile And I haven't heard about that yet, that sorta pisses me off though. All that could do is hurt him more. And help him think she is coming back. I mean, yeah not every breakup is this hard, or spontaneous, but no one is making this easier for him. I wish she would stop acting like an ass and just call him. Tell him it didn't workout, or something...

obviously he doesn't think Jessa is missing, he thinks she's just being a bitch and left Jeff. Taken the easy way out and just left without contact.

Alex's scarecrow in the garden caused Jeff to go ape shit at him. Alex has obviously noticed a drastic change in Jeff, well, with his girlfriend going missing I'm not surprised.

Well i have a pretty good idea of what he looks like, from overheard conversations of the guys and him. Tall, wearing a suit and no face. The first time i heard them talking i thought they were being followed by some sexual predator. A complete mistake, and when i asked my brother, he flipped out on me. He thought i was mocking him. I rather talk to him about real life problems than this stupid story.

Again, Jeff's behaviour. At least we know that Alex knows what Slenderman looks like....roughly. Alex seems to have tried to find out what's been happening and just gets his head ripped off instead, this makes me wonder if his videos are just him lashing out at Jeff, his lack of belief in the slenderman is just Alex's way of saying "well, you want to act like this you can forget my help".

eh just sounds like she could be friends with jessa and just playing along. If she wasnt, she wouldnt be afraid to talk to them, ya know? and isnt it like 1 am for you?!

This shows that Alex again thinks Jessa has just upped and left Jeff. I'd asked him if he knew whether the guys were willing to talk to her and that she seemed afraid to approach them.

oh i diffenately know what you mean, i myself, have been sick for about a week now. Not bad, just a head cold. But fortunately i've been going to bed early, unfortunately not staying asleep.

Again, I don't know if he's really ill or whether or not it's a symptom of Slendy or the other beastie.

ahahah aw, my dog is old. Although still VERY hyper. Being a Jack Russel she will be hyper till the day she goes. She sleeps in my bed, and when i wake up in the night, shes still running around in my room, growling at the window, and licking my cheek. She's a nut! Sometimes i move in my sleep, and scratches me thinking im playing. Last night i had a cut on my forearm that drew blood hahahha on my legs, usually where she sleeps on, are filled with scratches and cuts. Since ive been sick recently shes been real sweet. Like she can sense something, and instead of wrestling and being rough she just sits on my stomach or licks me

We got on to the subject of dogs. Granted dogs can be sympathetic when ill and our dogs can behave like his but they rarely growl at the window unless there is something there.

hahaha well i really want to get a Great Dane, amazing dogs. I also like border collies, blue healers (Australian Shepard) and Huskies. Sparky is my first dog, shes probably about 12. Pure breads, like mine, live about 12-14 years, so yeah shes an old lady. And she growls just around, and no not because twig man is being a pedo. Ive gotton up and checked many times . One time it looked like a big white possum or something got into the house. But it was gone
in seconds. I looked around and nothing. that was most likely a dream lol

Nah im good, probably just zoned out, my dog would NOT let my sleep AT ALL last night. Crying all night

Previously I'd asked him if he'd seen Jeff's newest video and if he knew who the body was and what the hell the white creature was. He said he had no idea about both. After those messages I asked him if he was ok and this was his reply.

Aw well good luck, and i did, i grabbed my camera last night because it was the strangest thing. She was acting worse than ever

At a guess, this was the footage he showed in his last video but because he took it down before I saw it, I've no idea.

After that message I asked him if he knew why she was acting like that. He figured she was just being annoying.

So yeah, here's my conversations with Alex and my thoughts on it. Again, I'm sorry for not posting it earlier but it's pretty much only just clicked that some of the things he said could be relevant. [/i]

Mea culpa. Complete black silence does sound like something a glitch could do. When you put it like that, it could be a problem with the editing. The video-pull could be a OOG thing. We'll know more, if the video gets re-uploaded.

Still, given how (pretend) camera failure is important in Slenderman lore, I can't quite shake the suspicion that we're being played.

So I've been lurking this forum for a few months now, just never found a reason to join seeing as how everything i thought was happening someone already said in more depth. Confused

This whole new "Rake" story is really peaking my interest. I havn't read all the way through his(its?) mythos but it he is targeting Alex more than the EMH guys there must be a reason. The chances of him randomly targeting someone who's brother is being targeted by slendy is slim to none. I'm siding with the whole slendy byproduct, although not sure of his motives yet.
