I don't know that anyone has said it yet but thanks for creating the brute force script, AzureWolf. I hope that it pays off.

Appreciate the appreciation But, hey, it was my pleasure, literally. I enjoy creating scripts like that. I hope all our time spent entering codes pays off. Cause seriously if the end game is something that doesn't reward us at least in part for all that work, well, it'll suck.

"You saved the galaxy...I salute you and give you my TRUST...your efforts to help me will not be in vain...you will be rewarded by remain in the mind of the future generations of our galaxy..."
a message like that at the end would totally suck XD

I would feel just feel rewarded if ending is good, honestly. Player recognition is nice. Swag is alright sometimes. I just really hate it when PMs create really hard or time consuming puzzles only to have a terrible ending or just fizzle out. So far they haven't disappointed me. Let's hope they continue the good work.

Yeah, that's essentially what I meant by "reward", something from a story perspective. I don't expect any accolades for anyone (though it would be kind of cool to see how many puzzles we've solved), and swag would be awesome but yeah that's beyond my expectations.

Hit 8000 Gene mutations and this popped up:
Progression:
Meditron
Typing meditron gives:
Very cool image. Well at least they're dangling some sort of carrot out there lol.

Well that would explain why they aren't fans of the automated process... Blasting through all the solutions in a day and we would never see those images.
I could have done without the Maxis logo, though...

It still says instability in 80 operations for me. I have seen it say less when I log out or close the site before completing a puzzle. It saves the previous puzzle and number of operations complete. I wonder if that's what happened to you?
ETA: Nevermind it updated after a few puzzles. I'm now at 60 ops instability.

So are people actively doing entries, or is this auto-decreasing?
I'm not running any automated process here.

As far as i've seen it's a mix. I'm almost for sure that the process goes down by 2 almost every single time I put in an entry. So either someone has some freaky timiing or it's a automated thing. Also I think it's goes down by about 1 every 5-10 minutes on it's own, but I haven't actively checked it for a rate.
Edit 1: After looking at the site and the fall of numbers. We either have quite a few members working on the genes or the designers increased the countdown as the numbers are going down MUCH faster. I think we've gone through almost 500 genes in one day.
