Well, new to THIS series. I understand why you guys wanted me to start at video six, but I hope you aren't disregarding everything before that? There's always something, in every mystery, that someone overlooks. And it could be in those first five videos.

I wasn't trying to be negative either haha. I just didn't want you getting to video 5 and be soooo sure about something only to be let down. You'll see what I mean I think.

I don't know, I keep feeling like they emphasized that postcard so much that it's probably right in front of us and we can't see it...

I tried anagrams...the closest thing I could find for "ashen waste" was "he wants sea" which made me think of the seashore scene...after they went through the slendy-portal? It does seem like some climatic events have already (in a different time/dimension?) occurred there...

still grasping at straws

Hi Nightmare! I've actually decided to rewatch all the videos again tonight, so I'm pretty excited to hear what you have to say. It does feel a little like we've missed something (or possibly a few somethings).

I was playing around with anagrams earlier today, and I started wondering if this might turn out to be an unintentionally difficult puzzle. What if the answer is some local destination that is so well-known to them and everybody they know IRL that they don't realize how obscure it is to everyone else? Probably just me being paranoid, I know, but it would be a real bummer.

Ha... you guys noticed my tweet about Fairmount children's home. (I'm Draveshift on twitter), I figured it was a bit of a shot in the dark. but it does seem pretty promising that a few hours after i posted that, they responded like they did.

The thing is, I'm pretty sure that most of the stuff about Fairmount was made up completely by the EMH guys. i'm 99% sure that the first few results on google were manufactured by the guys for the ARG, so they HAVE to use it at some point. I wouldn't be surprised if they'd already shot videos out there, and were just waiting until we figured it out to post them.

Anyway, obviously, i'm putting my money on Fairmount being the Land of Ashen Waste, but hopefully one way or the other, this pans out and we get more progress on things soon.

I had that thought too. Like if there was some well-known Princeton area landmark abbreviated LAW (land of ashen waste) or something. But we have enough people who live within a couple miles of the area, as evidenced by the boxes, that I'm sure someone would have chimed in. Edit: forgot to add, despite the callouts to the audience so far, nothing WE have done has actually advanced the story. Remember the "omg #wheresjeff" campaign? No one actually figured out where he was and they just kept posting entries anyway. It would be COOL if they are waiting on us to figure it out before they post the next entry, but that has never been their MO.

I don't know how it is in America, but over here you can def get permission to film a movie in a location even if it's sort of dangerous, as long as you sign a paper that says you don't mind dying for art.

America is Land of the Lawsuit, unfortunately. I'm sure if you were Hollywood(TM) you could get some kind of agreement to film in an about-to-collapse building. But if you are two random college kids? Cops wouldn't give you five minutes of their time, because even with a signed document waiving all responsibility, someone would STILL sue them even if it was doomed to lose.

(I may or may not have done a bunch of urban exploration in the Boston area during undergrad and been forcefully ejected by the cops more than once Censored )

If you're talking about http://www.ohiotrespassers.com - a quick whois tells me that it's registered by someone named Jay Brown from Akron, Ohio, and that it's been around since 2002... so I doubt that it was set up by the EMH crew.

http://www.forgottenoh.com was registered by Andy Henderson from Columbus, Ohio, also in 2002.

I think the postcard was a hunt for red herrings. The Ashen Waste probably isnt a cryptic code. It is what it is one of the Ashen Waste they have visted. Either the school they found the papers in or the place in Lambertville. Then again thats just my opinion.

A little bit OT, but I went ahead and did the complete transcript for The Night Jog on the Wiki page for it. I'm gonna go ahead and start working on some other transcripts tonight too - dunno how many I'll get done, since it's almost six in the morning my time, but I'll try my best.

Edit: Finished Dreams & Eating.

Augh, I'll get to work on the wiki a bit too, since I'm useless lately. Can't really help with transcripts, but I'll see if there's some useful stuff I can add, like screeshots.

EDIT: Ok, I was rewatching Sleep Lab 1. Is it just me, or at around 2:25 you start hearing a sound like sea waves, that gets louder (until it cuts back to the Hampster Dance, obviously Laughing )? Similar to the sound in the old shack where they kicked down the door, before passing the 'portal' to the sea in 78of76? Maybe I'm trouting.

Well, after all that writing shit down, I'm about to go have a "sleep lab" of my own. Night folks, looking forward to some awesome theories in the morning (or more accurately, afternoon)! (:
