rehr!... just in case people aren't actually joking --- Lt is short for Lieutenant... and it's a perfectly valid, standard short form for lieutenant... and just in case people are joking, I guess I just got trolled

On the distant chance that this is for real; you don't have to take our word for it. The US Navy states that the official abbreviation for Lieutenant is LT.
Note that an LT in the US Navy is equivalent in rank to a Captain in the US Army (O3 pay grade for both). An Army LT is equivalent to a Navy Ensign (O1).
-- Steve notes that he made a boo-boo in his big writing project; he thought that Captain was abbreviated CPT, but it's actually CAPT. *sigh* Never enough time for research...

why can't these kids get THEIR grammar right! ahem:
there (a place): Look! Over there, a payphone!
they're (they are): They're doing a good job enhottenating axons in DC.
their (posessive): Their terrible grammar keeps trolls from being taken seriously.
Quote:
excuse me but what does Lt mean. on these forums you have to type out all words or you will be judged. your not intelligent if you dont type out your words. never use Lt again
time for YOUR next grammar lesson!
your (possessive): Your grammar is atrocious!
you're (you are): You're not the hottest axon in the bunch, are you?

In true USENET "he who corrects must himself make a mistake", grammar is spelled with two a's
(let the pedant wars begin!)

please pardon my lack of strategery (as I look over my shoulder for angry trolls), but do the moderators not make the call on what is and is not acceptable? I am new to forums, so I really do not know if there (or they're for any trolls I missed b4) is an understood rule or whether each forum is unique and has its own guidelines... anyway, I would appreciate a good "ejicashun hear". Thanks
