When was Twin Peaks first aired? I've only heard about it through the Internet, but I'm ignorant about pop culture in general.

1990 and 91. (And please don't reply with anything bordering on "The year I was born" it just makes those of us who actually watched it on network TV feel ancient.)

Bah! You're a regular whippersnapper compared to my 36. I work at a university, and this was the year in which the incoming freshman were born when *I* was a freshman.
I used to record Twin Peaks on a primitive sort of DVR called a videocassette recorder, and I went to see Fire Walk With Me the weekend it opened. Now who wants some cherry pie and a damned good cup of coffee?
(Slenders would fit the Red Lodge perfectly, no?)

I'm flat out falling apart. I glued my legs back on early this morning.

It's times like this when I have to look at myself and say, "Basket, when did you start being an adult? Stop it. Stop it now."

Looks like the majority of Slender Man fans are in college. Just like the creators of MH, EMH, and TT.
Slenderman is like Transformers or My Little Pony. Intended for kids, but fun for all the family.

22 and a half. Looks to be that I'm on the high-average side of the Bell Curve. Still within a single deviation of the average age though, which is nice.
Edit, hrm, actually, average age is 22.222 recurring at the moment. So yeah, basically bang on the average age.
