Man, this topic moves fast. I was just rewatching "Cops Checked" and I remembered a thought I had the first time I watched it, which was quickly displaced by the crawling beastie:

In the first half of the video, they're driving along a highway, talking about the events that have occurred, how they got there, all that. The first time I watched the video, and to an extent every time I've tried watching again, I get the feeling that they're actually driving in circles, or, Marble Hornets #23 style, they're teleporting around on the road as they drive. I don't know why that would be, but it looks like they drive by the same landmarks three or four times. Any thoughts?

Good point, though I'd go even further and say the entire series can take a left turn after "crawler" was introduced. Damsel lay "dormant" for long, and something has to happen now.

Also... who did die in MH that was close to Alex?

Samantha, or something like that? He seemed particularly choked up mentioning her name in the entry J found in the tower. His eyes get a distant look when he says her name, so I assumed they were romantically involved somehow. I could be wrong on that point, but even so we can assume the girl he was living with when Slendy caught up to him in 26 isn't in great condition now.

Sarah. And he seemed more concerned about Seth, but that was just because Seth seemingly died in front of him.

See it this way.

The girl you're in love with has disappeared without a trace. In the best hypothesis, she has left you with no reason. In the worst, she's dead. In a horrible, horrible way. And it's probably partially your fault.

You're stalked by an assortment of supernatural entities, you've seen corpses disappear into thin air, your brother thinks you're paranoid, one of your best friends is going knife crazy (and the other is neck deep in denial), and the people on the internet you asked for help, instead of, you know, helping, keep on insisting you contact this random girl who says she had been BFF with your girlfriend, but has only a couple pictures and a short video to show for it.
And who has been taking pictures of you and your friends behind your back.
And despite swearing left and right she wants to help, not only she has never tried to contact or help you in any way, but she seems to answer all questions with unhelpful vaguely "scary" stuff and music videos that suffered a sharp decline in quality lately .
And who has been complaining about being questioned by the police for your girlfriend's disappearance.

I believe Damsel, but from Jeff's point of view, trusting her wuld make no sense. At Jeff's place I'd be very wary of her, and probably even somewhat pissed. Factor in the stress and the spat can make sense without insane backstories - hell, to me it would make sense even without too much behind-the-scene interaction (but I do think there was at least an e-mail or something).

EDIT:

Actually, people pointed the EMH Youtube channel to her almost immediately after Sleep Lab 1. She even videoblogged about them, and I'm pretty sure it was before it was clarified Jessa was gone.

There are also some posts in her blog with people asking "hey, have you heard from Jessa? Jeff says she doesn't answer his calls" and she answers with something like "Really? Weird... I'm sure I'll see her at school on monday - well, I hope".

*is resident Damsel expert because she went through her blog to write her Wiki page*

Is Sarah dead though? All Alex said was that she was "gone", and given that Jay and Tim are supposed to be "gone" also, that might not mean much. I'm still holding on to the thought that she may still reappear at some point.

Damsel has a new My Chemical Romance video up. The lyrics are creepy as hell, and they seem to be inviting more wild speculation. Wink

I seriously hope this message she's trying to send us is important.

(Wait, I actually kind of not hate this song - it's nice in this fake 80s retro way... If she was trying to prove a point about her taste, well, it worked Smile )

I think she's trying to just spite everyone's hate for My Chemical Romance, hahaha.

Times like these make me wonder if any of the cast go on this site.

I know everyone really wants the whole "Jeff/Damsel" or "Jessa/Damsel" theory to be wrong, but seriously guys? What does this song say to you?

Oh, they must. They must. There's no way they don't know we're here. Troy and Joseph come on here, I'll bet anything the EMH guy do too.

Nah, I don't think Sarah's dead, I should have clarified. Alex didn't really "lose" anyone, except maybe his dog... and Marble Hornets, I guess.

I was just clarifying that the person he said was "gone" was Sarah, along with Seth, Tim, Brian, and Jay. Seth probably *is* dead, and Brian is either dead or possibly in cahoots with Tim.

Speaking candidly, I really wouldn't call anyone whose fate resembles Tim's alive anymore. At best they are obsessed, and at worst they are shells of their former selves.

That we're not alone on here.
Nevnaan's already given a pretty satisfactory explanation for the fight. There's no need for wishful shipping.

Lol, I've been checking old posts on CYSTW (I have no life okay, also the whole "there's something we're missing" theory is driving me nuts) and in the videoblog (6/22/2010) about watching the EMH videos, she says "I've been checking out this Evan guy..."

With all this talk about shipping it made me chuckle.

I tried to look for hints of the love triangle theory but I simply can't see anything. If it does turns out to be true, I'm going to be a bit pissed honestly. If they want to pull such a twist, they should have hinted at something, otherwise it just feels like they pulled it out of nowhere. ARGs are a bit like a detective story in narrative structure, even if the setting is horror, so for me Chandler's rules apply. Especially number 3. And 8. Let's not forget the Patagonian anteater.
