2.Does anyone know the identity of afro-guy in Alex's background?

A little sleuthing turned up this blog post. Looks like afro-guy is Larry Langford, former mayor of Birmingham, AL, and past reporter for Birmingham's WBRC TV news.

I wonder if the connection to Birmingham--home of Damsel and (I think) MH--is a total coincidence. It is an awesome image all by itself.

EDIT: And now for some crazy-ass not-even-speculation. Somewhat near Birmingham is Uniontown, which hosts a very controversial dumping site for toxic coal ashes. It is literally a land of ashen waste. There's no way in hell the EMH guys would be that cryptic, though.

Looks like he went to prison for corruption, also thats very weird.

Wonder why Alex choose it?

Given Sparky's reaction so far, I'd love to see how a deaf wolf-hound goes after Slendy. I think that would be very, very entertaining to watch!

Would Slendy have a scent? I totally forgot the wolf was deaf lol.
If slendy had a scent what would it be?

I think it's more of a sense of unease and dread rather than an actual scent. I think Sparky barks at The Rake not because it smells wrong or it looks frightening, but because it is wrong itself, not of this world.

I'm going with this. They say dogs can see ghosts, after all. This does make me somewhat uneasy, since my dog has been going bat-crap crazy whenever I'm home alone these days...

I know that feeling, we've had to move my daughter out of her room and into ours because of some weird stuff happening. Our dogs go ape shit at something in there that we can't see and there's always a feeling that you're being watched. As EMH as that sounds it's very true. We're swapping rooms with her now because she's not scared of being in our room alone. Whatever it is happens all over the house but it's mainly that 1 room that makes everyone feel weird.

I hereby authorize you to flip your lid and make like a basket case.

Actually, I'm impressed- that's a pretty good piece of research and reasoning there. However, Alabama's a long way from Jersey (I speak from experience) and, unless Jeff's willing to take another drive down the I-95 Corridor, I can't see them rushing to check it out.

So I just watched the no body vid again. The "breathing" is exactly the same as whatever it is in Alex's video of Sparky. I think it's saying "brother" again. What gets me though, is why send the guys all the way to that building if he's residing in their walls?

I don't think The Rake sent them there, I think it was a fluke, as Jeff said, and they fell into Rake territory. The Rake then followed them home and began to hunt around Alex's house. That's my theory, at least.

I totally agree that them traveling from NJ to AL is out of the question.

However. Smile

The only part of NJ I've ever been to is Red Bank, Monmouth, and environs. One thing I noticed is that, architecturally, there were places that could easily pass for similar little towns back in Alabama (where I'm from). If they keep their shooting tight, and if they can find a part of town that's a little down-at-heel, they could easily pass off a little NJ town for a little AL town. Likewise, they could shoot in the pine barrens and sell it as an Alabama pine scrub and only the most botanically pedantic viewer would object.

If the team-member playing Damsel is IRL from Alabama, it'd be even easier. Have somebody overnight a copy of the Birmingham News on the 9th, slip it in a newspaper vending machine on the 10th and catch it in an establishing shot, post it to Youtube on the 11th and say you shot it on the 9th and just got back to Jersey.

And if Damsel has family coming for a visit or friends making a road trip, you've got a handful of actors with authentic accents for walk-on parts.

Or, maybe even simpler, have a friend or family member back in Alabama do some second unit work, providing establishing shots of the real Uniontown and ash dump. Send that to whoever's doing the editing, let the EMH guys loop in some dialog over the location footage, then shoot themselves in an anonymous NJ forest and pass it off as Alabama.

On the other hand, Uniontown being the actual land of ashen waste still seems like a real long shot.

Good point. I'll check the video dates and message dates to see when Alex said Sparky started playing up.

So the no body video was posted on the 26th of September and Alex sent me a message on the 24th of September saying that Sparky acts like she does. I'll ask him, if he's on later, how long Sparky has been doing it.

I agree. I don't think it's the Rake who's been planting boxes and sending postcards. With big nasty claws, he's probably not dextrous enough to use Photoshop, and I can't see him visiting Michael's for craft supplies. Wink

I'm still puzzled by why the EMH crew believe the burned-out school wasn't the intended "land of ashen waste", though. They thought the location fit the clue, and they found some bizarre and relevant stuff when they got there, so it seems like it fit the bill perfectly. Are we supposed to assume they believe that the actual Habit will be waiting for them when they get to the right place?

You should meet some of the girls I know who use Photoshop. They don't have nails, they have damn talons.
I realised how daft it sounded thinking that the Rake sent them there, it's odd though that from what Alex has said, it seems that Sparky has been playing up for a while. I'll keep pressing Alex about it.
What else do you think I should ask apart from how long she's been like it etc?

Ask him if he has any idea what sent Jeff over the edge re: Damsel. Not so much backstory, just if there was a precipitating email or phone call or something.

Also, ask if his house might be built over an ancient Indian burial ground or something. Wink

lol I'll ask him about the burial ground. As for Jeff going over the edge, Alex doesn't seem to have the foggiest because Jeff is quite secretive with him. Every time he asks Jeff about something he goes ape shit. I'll ask though. See if he knows anything now.

Ask him why the dude with the afro is his background on his channel... I mean, he'd be able to put an end to our speculation fairly easily - I'm sure HE knows why he chose that image. :p
