Holy poop on a stick! That was certainly something I didn't expect. I wonder now what will happen when all of the "Spike" axons go hot...

Well she's asking for phone numbers from them as well, per xnbomb...

So maybe some kind of conference call so she can figure out what to do next?

Oh and further info from xnb's call --

She said she was lonely, and asked him to tell a story about a time when he was lonely...

So could someone enlighten us as to the circumstances under which the current spike axons went hot? Were they connected to another axon somehow, or were the persons involved somehow contacted directly (by phone? E-mail?), or what? How were the "crewmembers" chosen?

they were existing axons. and she isn't picking crewmembers anymore -we're all crewmembers- she's picking officers.

Well, xnbomb answered the first axon after we hit 777/777, and mike_was got the first one in the payday code group, but 2 axons are now hot in not_anymore and there are no crewmember spikes for it yet... so it seems fairly random.

Oh yeah, she asked xnbomb for his name and RANK. So technically, you could just say you were a midshipman and you'd be enlisted, not an officer... The ranks just happen to be the ones they gave themselves.

When I am unbearably sad, I do this: Crying or Very sad

I cannot get to ANY of my regular axons today. No way, no how, no chance. And I'll bet dollars to doughnuts that Melissa is speaking to her crew personally today only.

Crying or Very sad Crying or Very sad Crying or Very sad

The Flea just popped up on my recipe1 page, wrote his mantra all over the place, a few seconds later the page auto refreshed and he was gone. Is this new? I never saw him on an axon page before.

Shad, I'm with you man... the one day I get to work late (15 minutes) and I'm already on pins and needles with management.... no way, short of a bomb threat (which I would NEVER do, but can dream about) would get me outta work on time today...

Crying or Very sad

What an interesting thing.

I think the whole 'reward for answering axons' thing was just what was needed to get the rest of these phones answered...

Seems pretty neat

Thank you all for the links... it's cool to see in-game recognition like that. A pity I can't get my name in there. Damned CRTC and their incoming-call-to-payphone policy. Mad

-- Steve's not feeling too left out, though. There's always his meagre contributions to the Fireflies Wiki to look to.
