Yeah I know where the gold is too, its just that I have plans for the next 11 months with my model girlfriend who I met on the internet so I can't go get it. I'll be there on September 18,2011 though, to claim my winnings!

What I do not really understand is what Tom really represents in all of this. The most I see him do is point his fingers at stuff, throws things, cut things, and disappear. Oh yeah he does give Japanese clues but how does he really fit into the treasure story? Does anyone have any ideas about him? I am just trying to look at the big picture.

As someone pointed out on here and I had the same thoughts; This seems like a take off on the Wizard of Oz. Could we be looking for the Wizard to help us? The 'wizard' was a fraud, even though he was really smart he was not who he said he was. How could we apply that? Since we are all in totally different places, how could we apply that to our spot?

Could Tom be Glinda?? Glinda in drag? She was always popping in and out. She couldn't get it out of her head that Dorthy was not a witch. She is the one who put it in Dorthy's head that there was no place like home. She then waved her magic wand over Dorthy, made her click her heels three times (3's again) and made her recite 'There Is No Place Like Home'. ???

The Captain is sneaky. He gives verbal clues in code. Behind him in the back ground are vague clues.

Where is Oz and where is 'Home Sweet Home'? Those are the question we need.

Tutty?
That would be ironic, it would be

TuTTYy. Three T's. Hammock. That would be ironic since one area I looked at had 3 trees and volley ball was played there.

Possible connection: Wizard of Oz 1939 same year as World's Fair ??
New Technicolor used. Victor Fleming. MGM. 1900 novel 'The Wonderful Wizard of Oz' by Frank Baum. Dorthy Gale from Kansas. Toto (Tutty?) Over the Rainbow, Frank Morgan-Wizard/Door man/cab driver/ Professor Marvel/fortune. , Zeke-Lion, Hickory-Scarecrow, Hunk-Tin Man, Miss Almira Gulch - Witch, Glinda - Good Witch of the North, Wicked Witch of the East (NE?) Munchkins (sweets) , Ding Dong The Witch is Dead, Flying Monkeys, etc.
In Dorthy's dream her friends and enemies turn into characters which represent various personalities & good and bad qualities in the movie and book.

Anyone see any connections???

I think it is in the Captain's Boot - drawn with me own crayoli's.

Where is the Captain's boot? That I don't know, but BOOT means Car Trunk in Mr Nigel and Mr Gibson's British vernacular

KMUP studios
treasure as locked in trunk in basement of KMUP studios (like Gary had been)

While I like the suggestion of boot, I am not sure it is consistent with the treasure being "buried" last November. As a practical matter, it would be too insecure to keep it in someone's trunk and driving around with it. Instead, my spies have advised me that the code points to it being locked in a trunk in the basement of KMUP studios where Gary was locked up. After being in the trunk for so long, Gary needed to rush off to go to the bathroom.

This string of names in the WPPPT episode seems to be a very important clue to solve given its proximity to the exposure of the vault and the hidden images. Consider whether they are Muppet characters. Paul Williams who wrote the "The Rainbow Connection", sung by Kermit the Frog in The Muppet Movie -- that I have periodically posted -- was part of a short lived rock group called "Holy Mackerel." That perhaps inspired the puppeteers to make HOLY MACKEREL a key clue.

http://theseconddisc.com/2010/08/24/holy-mackerel-early-paul-williams-expanded-and-remastered-by-now-sounds/

Mulligan noted that a HOLY MACKEREL was a very good card.

"Billy... Bob ... James ... John ... Jimmy ... Carol ... Wynona: Hold on. That blast made by the Captain seems to have exposed something in the center of the table Gary."

Mulligan in the final episode ("Seance") expressed a desire that Captain could be Captain, Crothers could be Crothers etc. -- suggesting that different puppeteers assume different characters. Given the tribute paid to Jim Henson that has been perceived by some, let's consider whether Gary is a pointer to the location. By way of background, we've seen that the clues get you to Flushing Meadow Queens Corona Park. But do they get you to KMUP studios?

The script continues:

"The video dissolves to a top down view of the poker table showing a stone disk sunk into the center of the table under the felt. Raised on the stone are the image of a grinning skull inscribed within a compass or ship's wheel with eight spokes."

Gary was locked in a trunk in the KMUP studios for decades until Clifford and Rizzo found him in Episode 210 of Muppets Tonight.

http://muppet.wikia.com/wiki/KMUP

KMUP is the TV network run by the Muppets on Muppets Tonight. The network was owned by Carni-Vore Industries until it was bought by Ernst Stavros Grouper in episode 205. Ernst Stavros Grouper believes that the Muppets are just not hip enough, and he wants to make some changes.

KMUP has a number of different areas, including a sound stage, control room, dressing rooms, lobby, commissary, basement, and roof. The building has seven floors and a basement that the elevator stops according to episode 110. In episode 206, the studio is located on the third floor. The treasure is in the basement of KMUP studios.

In the real world, that would place it at Kaufman Astoria studio in Queens.

Perhaps it is the picture of the moon that gives it away. Here is Kermit putting his hands on the chest. The next picture is of Evander Holyfield from that episode in the laundry. Evander Holyfield is a professional boxer who from 1990 until 1994 was reigning Heavyweight Champion. Holyfield made a cameo appearance in Muppets Tonight episode 210, encountering Sal Minella in a laundromat (which btw is where the Captain washed his colored balls in late October 2009). See also "Swift Laundry" advertised by Mario and Fafa. In Muppets Tonight episode 202, Clifford asks the battling duo of Lash Holstein and Moo-Ing's henchman, "Who do you think you are, Evander Holycow?"

Or perhaps the key clue was the big turtle on the moon. (see picture below)

Here's how to get past security (brown bear) at KMUP.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0Os4Qs2GAq4

The episode has Penn and Teller in the rocket skit.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zO8PC8tSY5A

That scene cuts to the front steps at Johnny Fiama's house. Evander Holyfield arrives and knocks on the door. Johnny answers the door, but he's dressed as his mother. He tells Evander that Johnny Fiama doesn't live there anymore. Evander is about to leave when Johnny's Ma shows up and unmasks Johnny. She seems ticked off at Johnny being dressed up like a girl and wearing a wig (Recall Mulligan's "He thinks I'm a girl"). Evander runs into the house after Johnny, and there are sounds of shattering plates and breaking furniture as Johnny screams in pain. After a few seconds Evander comes out, though the sounds of violence continue behind him, since it is Johnny's Ma making all the noise. Evander says, "That woman's crazy."

The first outtake is from Bobo's audition. He rubs his nose, and then wipes his finger off on Gary's coat.

In the Muppets pirate movie, the treasure had been dug up and removed to the ex-girlfried of Captain Kermit. You had to know that Kermit's ex-girlfriend was Miss Piggy to locate the treasure. Join me now in a rousing chorus in with the two crabs, the octopus, the gorilla, the diamond-backed snake, and the rest of the crew to sing a rousing chorus of "Shiver My Timbers!" Jim Henson's memorial bench number is 10098, a New York City zipcode. (Sesame Street Director Stone, whose memorial bench is next to the Jim Henson bench. Mr. Stone died of Lou Gehrig's disease ("luckiest man in the world" speech).

So forget Leonardo DaVinci's notebooks as providing a key.

Don't bother with Vincent Van Gogh's correspondence with Theo.

Don't bother to reach for Kit Williams' or Herge's or Jules Verne's treatment of the Red Line as pointing to the treasure.

It instead perhaps was always Jim Henson's Red Book that always held the key. In June 1965, 28-year-old Jim Henson started a written log of his activities in what became known as "The Red Book." He noted down what had happened up until that point (deemed "Ancient History") and then recorded anything that he felt was worth recording as single line journal entries until the end of 1988.

 Cipher

If you have the cipher, I know the key, we can deal. Please PM me.

I mean if you have an actual enciphered message (string of characters and/or numbers), not just think that you have found a few hidden letters or some resemblance to something in one of the video frames. Not just the "lottery numbers". I am probably inviting some off-the-wall responses here, so please be patient if I appear skeptical.

I do not know the exact form of the cipher or exactly where it is to be found. I just know the key without which it is useless (but probably very frustrating). I expect the message to appear as gibberish but clearly identifiable, not something like, for instance, taking the first letter of each word in one of the comic book adverts. If you can describe the form and length of the cipher and in general terms how it was obtained, we can arrange a meeting to work it out.

Meantime, of course, I will be trying to decipher any possibilities I come up with, so I understand that you will not want to tip me off to the methods of your work unless you get something back. It will be difficult, because the key is inherently a simple few pieces of information, but we will have to establish trust.

Naturally, I may be completely mistaken that the cipher exists at all. Treasure hunting is never a sure thing until the gold is home. But I think I have a pretty clear statement that the key is the key, and I was lucky (though also I hope clever) to find it.

I suppose I should mention that I also think I know the necessary instructions what to do with, well, what you may have found.

Spaniard May Be On To Something

I just reread the WLOG site. It says buried several times. It says somewhere underneath New York City, only once. To me buried means that it is just covered with something. Now under NYC means clearly means that it is not above ground, even in a storage unit. That storage unit would have to be underground. So it is somewhere underground, not above or at level with the ground.

I think you are on to something, Spaniard. Astoria was one of the first places that I looked at when doing this puzzle. It is transverse with the area where this hunt began. I just couldn't narrow it down to a park location. I have to go back to the WLOG site to see if it says that it is in a park. There is a manufacture over there that does edit the iced cream. There were also a few other possible clues, but then again I am starting to see clues everywhere. LOL! There are 2 running clues that are in every single Episode.

Astoria has become a really big area for the film industry the past 2 decades. That area has gone through some really big changes. The area of the studios were not a place you would want to be. Oh and the public housing over there is not too hot of an area.

So who do we ask for when we get to the studio? You are not going to be allowed to just go to the basement.
