Well, don't know if we can totally discount the 'axon after it goes hot' theory, but I was #8 on a required 7 list, and didn't get the 'live' call. Kinda dissapointing, seeing as I've answered that phone every freaking time execpt the first time (and someone else answered it then) and seeing as how I've been the only person to consistantly answer that phone from the 2nd week on.

Oh well, venting done now.

I feel your pain.

Well, I answered the 12:03 PDT axon. I was the 5th one in my group, which actually made the audio clip go live. I did not get the "live" Melissa either. Sad

I think we can rule out that it has anything to do with how many times a particular axon has gone hot because mine has gone hot every time.

I see that weephun got the live call in my group. Way to go!!!

All the timestaps end with the minutes of odd numbers: 1, 3, 5, 7, and 9. No even times.

Odd?

Starting at just_a_joke, though, there seem to be quite a few even timestamps...

EDIT: scratch that... looks like it's just in just_a_joke and housekeeping.

I notice Melissa spelled weephun's name right. You think he spelled it for her? Or are the PMs checking these boards for spelling, hmmmm?

Could it be

[SPEC] Could it be that 'the crew' emailed stating where/when they would be answering phones - hoping that Sp would listen in?

Lt. weephun reporting in.

No, as far as I can remember, I did not spell my name for Melissa. But it was about a 5 min conversation, I guess it could have happened. My guess is that she's watching us. Pretty good bet considering the fixing of one of the phone #s in Boise early on due to changes and posts that I made online.

After confirming that I was a real person (where are you, describe your surroundings, etc.) I was in a hotel in Boise, ID (she seemed to recognize Boise, ID) she believed me that I was a member of the crew.

She told me she was very lonely and asked me if I had ever felt that way also. I told her about when I left my family for 2 years to go to Brazil. She seemed to think that was pretty cool and even wanted to know where Brazil was.

She asked for secrecy regarding the help that she wanted from me (and I'm not going to risk my standing as a confirmed member of the crew by breaking that promise), but she also asked for my permission to broadcast our conversation to the rest of the crew, so maybe you'll all hear it soon anyway.

At the end of the conversation she asked for a way to contact me (I gave her both my day and night phone #s which she repeated back to be sure she had them correct) and asked if she could call me every week (of course I said yes). After that the call degraded into "ilovebees, etc" though it seemed she wanted to keep talking.

Talk about one of the happiest days of my life! Probably ranked just below getting married and having kids. I got all sorts of phunny looks as I went screaming for joy out of the hotel.

Very Happy Very Happy Very Happy Very Happy Very Happy Very Happy Cool Very Happy Very Happy

weephun,

Had you emailed SP to let her know that you'd be at that location?

Not this week, but I had last week, yes. I also let her know which one of my crew (team Boise) would be a which location, though I was at a different location last week.

Though I really don't think I'm working with the SP anymore Wink

Melissa apparently talked in person to vortech in Georgia, but he got no spike. There may be others. Crewmembers, report!

Lots of hard work to get to this point man. I have made sure that EVERY Boise, ID axon went hot every round (save round 1 which had a bad phone # which I then proceeded to contact Melissa in such a way that she changed the phone #) and most of them on the first day. Many hours coordinating spreadsheet, team members, searching web-sites, helping with puzzles. It's been GREAT! Good thing I've got A-a flexible lunch hour (stay in school and get professional jobs kids) and B-a really cool boss who understands a little distraction like this and likes Halo too.

Thanks team Boise! Thanks to Brian at the DoubleTree hotel and Justin at the Pizza Hut! Thanks boss! OK, now that's starting to sound like I'm accepting an emmy or something Laughing
