Sorry to double post, but who knows how old the video is? Noah didn't know if it was recently recorded or when it was made.

The video was made in 1998, too long ago for it to reasonably be the kid they're talking about (and really, it takes a while for playgrounds to be built, it definitely won't be the same kid now running around alive in a playground built in his honor).

I only had time to watch the intro video but it definitely felt like a MH rip off.

Not going to try and judge a book by its cover though.

I'll probably eventually watch more, but can anyone just give me a brief personal review of this series?

It starts out as a Marble Hornets ripoff with worse acting, but the effects really look a great deal better. Submission 6 is really a triumph in both directions, with outright hilarious directing and writing but excellent Slendermoments. After Milo exists the series in #6, however, things immediately start looking up. Night Recordings and Box Analysis are very satisfying and creepy, and both keep up the high production values. I recommend it over EverymanHYBRID if only because it's so much easier to follow.

There are several things wrong with this post.

First of all, the Box Analysis is not satisfying. It had exactly what everyone predicted it would have, and it sacrificed it's creepy factor in order to have cheap, distorted scares. Also, an ARG isn't supposed to be dumbed down and easy to follow, the entire point is to solve a mystery, not just watch a linear stream of videos with every single plot point spoon-fed to you. I mean, for god's sake, he made a video that was just a recap of all Slendy appearances in the series thus-far. He's treating the audience like they're idiots.

Its kind of like an ARG with training wheels.
It still keeps that sense where viewers pretend the PM is real, but it does not have much decoding or analyzing, and there are only two inputs of info,

as opposed to EMH, where there is one twitter, tumblr, and youtube per character, whcih equals 500 links to look at.

just kidding thats an exaggeration, but TT is definitely a low calorie ARG. I think its good to follow for people who like ARG's but are too busy to follow the really involved ones.

That's true, which is why it's so nice that TribeTwelve is a video series, not an ARG. I'd also argue you're way off regarding Box Analysis. Tape Analysis, though, you're dead-on, very training wheels.

Yeah it becomes enjoyable if you can suffer through the first 6 entries. Sadly he only had time to do about 3 more before he got incredibly busy IRL so you'll be left with an enormous cliff hanger for months Sad

True, but at least the guy is not on a total hiatus, his twitter is updated every few days with interesting tidbits and twitpics. And I'm ok with that! Cool

I'd say the first six entries are still enjoyable and entertaining, just not in the way that was strictly intended...

The Ashers seem to have disappeared off the face of the earth. Every method of communication I try yields no reply. I need to reach them.

Seems that he still can't get in contact with Milo's family

Mr. Maxwell*

Had to correct that.

I'll need a few more Twitter updates to be sure, but I'm beginning to suspect that:

1. the Ashers are hard to get in contact with,
2. the boardwalk is a scary place, and
3. Noah isn't sleeping very well.

Sarcasm aside, I guess we're slowly moving towards an epic video concerning either of the first two points. Looking for the land of Asher waste might advance the plot, while visiting the boardwalk might mean some more tentacle action. I hope for the former (my main problem with TT right now is that I'm not sure if there even is a plot, or if they're just throwing in random stuff they think sound cool), but I'll settle for the latter.

Edit:
A thought about the poem. "The river's flow is where it begins" - there's a river in submission 4, by the boardwalk. "The truth lies within" could simply mean "you know something and you need to remember it", and the key to remember it is the boardwalk. In other words, the poem means roughly the same thing as the video: forget about the birds and the cars, and get thee to the boardwalk!

I wish people would stop calling these series' an ARG. Calling it that suggest that we have some kind of power, any power at all, over what happens in the videos.

We don't.
Even with totheark in MH, people can try and work out the puzzles, but Jay isn't reading the threads going 'oh, that's right,, so I'll do this next'.

Pretty much the only thing we can do in Tribe Twelve is ask Noah about his bloody dreams on Twitter. So I don't think 'this ARG is too linear' counts as a complaint when this is a video series with the absolute minimum of interaction from us.

My complaint isn't that it's linear, it's that it's dumb. We can seriously predict everything that happens. It's such a predictable, cooker-cutter, by-the-book Slenderman story, and it suffers because of it.

Funny, because that's exactly how I feel about EverymanHybrid. I pretty much predicted their newest entry verbatim. Rolling Eyes
