Three dots in a triangle also mean "and therefore" in chemistry shorthand...

There is a lot tree dots could mean. I don't think we can get any info from just three dots, anyone find anything familiar about a cylinder with the three dots? I was thinking it could be something to do with some "historical" ufo encounter/crash but I couldn't find anything after a bit of looking.

I think the three dots I saw on the semi truck on the set in Weirton were in the shape of a triangle, pretty much like the therefore sign used in proofs and other math statements.

I don't remember if they were 1 on top 2 on bottom like a pyramid - they could have been turned. They were white dots on a deep red background. I haven't been able to find anyone who has a picture of them. You'll have to look for them in the movie.

My assumption is the red trucks with 3 dots are part of a special "incident response" unit belonging to the USAF/Area 51.
I also assume that Father Minker was part of that unit and took the cylinder (and maybe some other items) without permission. Or he could have been a civilian in Lillian, Ohio during the events of the film and somehow obtained the secret "3-Dot" cylinder (and other material).

Yes, it sounds reasonable - the marks for layers, which will be added in post production. I think, they used it already in Cloverfield.
