Thankies for the kind words, Lys....

Didn;t have time to print and work on this, so thought I'd miss it, but a quick crack in my head a lil while ago.

I too guessed early - line 7 actually, lol, not many land masses have the jagged head into the water and such a large and distinct landlock (once i got to line 7 i decided working backwards would be easier to confirm, adding 56 - 58 really give it away).

I've decided to goad AQ in my response, in the hopes the trophy gets melted down anyway - Lewis needs to learn to be less materialistic Wink

Trying to work out if this is relevant (pg19), or just plain ole spam? This comment would seem to be 3 years old...?

Ed: It's a direct copy and paste of a paragraph from http://ezinearticles.com/?A-Short-Bio-on-Lewis-Hamilton&id=5164638 and yet has a link to that completely unrelated Wood Orange site, directly related to Country Hardwoods ltd - a clever spamming script me thinks..? Though interesting that the username here is the same as the email contact from Wood-Orangery... Mark...

Fairly certain it's irrelevant.

Annoyingly I'll be playing follow the ghost for a while, as Anna mentioned about getting secrecy back into the blog and to watch this space *carefully* - I don't do things by halves when I get the bug.

Unfortunately, I get the feeling the secrecy thing'll be a let down.

Though apparently Lewis is sending me a token of his appreciation for the Economy task... fingers crossed for a company PDA (read link on a bit of paper, lol).

(tis a shame this seems to hold a comparatively small audience, a lot of effort's been put into global translations etc -- though to be fair, i've been following at a distance since March, many others, especially foreign, may also be and using other forums, or no forum at all)

It's spam. (Plus nDreams know better than to break the unfiction TOS and post clues in this thread.)

Congratulations! I don't know about that "PDA", but I think you will get a bit of paper; AgentLex received an autographed photo of Lewis Hamilton. Smile

[META] I agree. Some great ideas have gone into this one, and clearly a lot of planning occurred before launch. Hopefully audience numbers will pick up further during this chapter before the finale.[/META]

Yes, nDreams are very good at what they do - all of it, in fact. My first experience of their work was Xi on the PlayStation Home platform, which was phenomenal - seemed to suffer a slowdown in the middle, but it was the required pace for the main target audience and length of story. (and i'll bet a few of the big budget stages really did cost a bomb - but monumental effort and skill put into the whole thing)

I did indeed receive an autographed photo of Lewis this morning - schweet! - that'll be staying in the envelope or framed with the letter me thinks, it's a far better than average photo of lewis - he looks much cooler in that hoodie than his leathers Razz (it's the standard geneva dark picture)

This is the letters the shapes give out after you've put them on the grid. Now we just need to work out the address from them.

Can you keep a secret?

I've come up with a way of keeping our exchanges of information more private. It's a new website, and if you've been following this adventure carefully over the past few months, you already have the tools to find it.
For every heist we've planned, I've created a heist simulation game. In each level, I hid an object that looks like a CD which only appears when you've entered the code that refined each level – in the Shanghai mansion, the code revealed the air vent network; in the Singapore bank vault, it made the droids track you more slowly...
So you should have four letters and numbers so far. Take note of them in order (they're case-sensitive). Now add a final one: 4.
Add that five-character code to the end of www.snipurl.com/ _ _ _ _ _ and you have a complete web address. Go there. And quietly spread the word.
But don't let that distract you from the more immediate problem at hand: Hawker has set us another puzzle and this one looks like a mind-bender.
AgentLex wrote a wonderful walkthrough of the first heist simulator including details about Anna's hidden message back in April. You can still play the first four heist simulator missions at www.secretlewis.com to find the hidden messages from Anna. Most of them require Anna's codes (in this thread, or in Anna's blog) to be entered before you can reach them.

Summary: Live event in Barcelona, Spain. Oct 30. With rewards.
Updates on secretlewis.com, supersecretlewis.com and aqhawker.com

Barcelona!

This is an urgent call to anyone in or near Barcelona. We need you to complete a mission tomorrow afternoon.
Hawker has challenged us to get balloons from one part of the city to another, and there's no way Lewis or I can get there in time to help. Check out Hawker's site for details – I'll figure out a way of rewarding you if you take part.
If you aren't in Barcelona, find someone who is. We need agents on the ground!

One of the biggest challenges of keeping a secret is knowing who to trust. I'm trying to spread the word about this site, gathering our forces, carefully choosing who to tell.
That's why Hawker is deliberately trying to force our hand now and push us into indiscretion. We need to find and recruit people in Barcelona quickly – by tomorrow – but it's essential we do so without compromising the security of this site. Use your own personal networks of contacts. Unfortunately Thierry is indisposed, but between us all, we know enough people to bring Hawker down.
Meanwhile, I've been in touch with the Intelligence Service to ask one final favour. It seems that Hawker has been on their radar for years but they've never been able to pin anything on him – his lawyers always figure out a way to make others take the fall. So the Intelligence Service network will also be in action in Barcelona tomorrow, handing over crucial information (and rewards) to whoever completes Hawker's Catalan challenge.
That makes it doubly important that we succeed.

Once again, you have performed to an acceptable level. The trophy survives.

Intellectually, you all seem capable. But how responsive is your physical network? Can you get a person to the right place at the right time, anywhere in the world?

Let's find out. I want at least one of you to go to Placa de Catalunya in Barcelona tomorrow between 3pm and 4pm. You should look for a woman carrying balloons and say that Alexander sent you. She will give you further instructions.

If you fail... I do not tolerate failure. Perhaps the trophy will be destroyed entirely, incinerated in the furnace of an ocean liner. Or perhaps it will be buried in the desert where it will never be found, always achingly there but untouchable.

You don't have much time to activate your social network. Begin

Also, I received a new email from Lewis.
Lewis wrote:
I'm contacting you like this because I know I can trust you. You've shown loyalty to our secret team, and right now, I need people like you on my side.

The www.SecretLewis.com website is being watched. The man who stole my trophy, AQ Hawker, knows all about the site and what we've been doing for the past few months. Now that we're planning to take him down, we need somewhere else to prepare and share information.

That's why Anna has built a new website for you. While she'll continue to put messages on www.SecretLewis.com, the real planning will be happening on www.SuperSecretLewis.com - she chose the name.

The new site is now live. If you really want to help us, go there now. It's where the real action is happening.

-Lewis
I take it from this email that everyone here is supposed to be visiting the new site.

Has anyone noticed that the new blog post for the 30th on the main page of Secret Lewis says "The balloon goes up" but when you click it it shows an old blog from the 9th of September thats called "It never stops.

What's going on there?

Mabye Hawker has hacked the Secret Lewis site or something...it's possible.

Potentially.

I did post a tweet/facebook message to see if I knew anyone in Barcelona.... no dice.

Looking at the page source for the update 30th Oct gives nothing away, though it's interesting the image points to the correct source in the sequence (blog7.php links to article7.jpg) but not the text - either, as you say, it's been "hacked", or (more likely) they posted the update by copying a template page, and while the image updated in the correct sequence, the text was not saved. I'd expect AQ to be a bit more blatant about managing to hack an IS website.

Foreign language pages confirm it; they unfortunately neglected to update this template page correctly. (and failed to check it - tut tut nDreams).

Page reads same as front page on the ENglish site, but without the final line;

=====

Are you in Barcelona? Then why are you reading this?

You should be on your way to Placa de Catalunya to meet a woman carrying balloons. You'll be glad to hear that I've worked out a way for you to be rewarded for your efforts, so it will definitely be worth your while taking part. It's only a small favour to ask, but it will make a big difference to Lewis. He's going nuts, but I can't let him get involved himself. Not yet.

If you aren't in Barcelona, find someone who is. We need agents on the ground!

=====

Doubly annoying - just checked the link on the spanish version of the site.... noooot a lot of activity there! Guess we'll be waiting to be hand fed that information... :/

Summary: The Barcelona event went well.
There is a new training video from Trainer Joe.
A new heist simulator is available via www.supersecretlewis.com

I hear rumours of a splinter group, a so-called 'hard core' of the more dedicated Lewis supporters who are endeavouring to carry the fight while the majority look on meekly.

It is sad that you have been unable to maintain unity in your ranks, but this once again illustrates the difference between an amateur such as Lewis and a professional like myself. Leadership is about maintaining discipline, whereas your army seems to have fragmented at the first sign of trouble. I almost pity Hamilton, surrounded by such disarray.

Despite your success in Barcelona on Saturday, I still feel you lack discipline. I will therefore find a way to focus your minds more sharply. Enough of the carrot – time for the stick.

Well done to everyone who took part in Barcelona and kept Hawker at bay for a little while longer. We even managed to get some useful information out of a local contact, which gives us a new edge over Sir Alexander.

If you know where our secrets are being discussed online, head over there for more details. If you're not sure where, contact me at 1234SPLATsecretlewis.com. There's a lot to get stuck into.

A plan comes together

Hawker has been dropping us hints for a week now, telling us what country the trophy is in and even which street. But if we just take the information he gives us, we'll never have an advantage. So I've done some extra digging.

On the street Hawker identified, there are a few small, anonymous office buildings that let out space to a whole range of tenants. One of those tenants is a firm called AQ Holdings - and the bills are being paid by AQ Hawker Ltd.

The Intelligence Service have kindly furnished me with these financial details and (old) plans of the building. Yesterday, I made a few surveys over the area with our satellite and tried to get an idea of their security. There's a whole stack of information about he building's original security systems, but it looks like Hawker has updated those. There was a lot of interference on the thermal imaging, and there's a mess of electromagnetic signals coming out of that building. It's hard to see what's actually in there, and I doubt our video equipment would get a clear signal either.

In any case, I've put together a model of the building for you to simulate the break-in online. It's not perfect, but it will give you an idea of what we're facing.

Joe has taken a look and devised a new training programme too. With the limited information we have, it's not easy to say what Lewis will need to do in there. We can only try to be prepared.

The new heist simulator is fairly long, but it doesn't have as many obstacles as the previous simulators. I suspect that this time Anna's code may actually increase the difficulty.
