"Rabbit or Habit"

Soo, the song time-traveled, too o.O? The song which has appeared in quite a few of the Hybrids' videos?

The English major in me would like to point out that there are quite a few spelling/grammatical errors in that letter... do you think it was intentional, and should we be looking for a code in the document?

I notice a handful of misspellings and grammatical errors in the letter ("realse" instead of release on page 2, "...one of our youngest patients, Evan, Has...." where "has" shouldn't be capitalized)... I wonder if they're either simple errors or if there might be something more to them?

Also, "kneeling over the body... laughing and in a dazed state"? Does this remind anyone of a certain happening involving Evan, a knife, Slendy and a bunch of hanging plastic bags? Like Yogi Berra said, "it's déjà vu all over again".... Shocked

Oh and, you people, nice job or something too.

Interesting that it came in a book shaped box. Might want to peel back that purple tape (very gently now) and see if anything is under it. Title, writing, carvings, anything.

Nothing, sorry. We thought that too, just wanted to take pics beforehand.

I had that exact same reaction.

Not necessarily, if we're still going with the House of Leaves motfis- late in the book, Will writes a letter to Karen and breaks down while writing it, and the grammar is absolutely terrible. (and I know from experience that I forget about any sort of grammar if I type when upset) Heck, the letter's even in Courier, the font Johnny uses.

The thing is, this is a medical report. Even if Corenthal was getting a slight slender touch, I don't think we'd see it so sparsely.

Also, my wife deals with medical records all day and states that the font is very similar if not the same to what she sees on most of the records.

Perhaps our Evan was named after a father or an uncle.

I think Evan being crazy all along is too much of a copout. I don't think it's as simple as him being nuts, or being "Habit" or being from the '70s. I can't even remember how Jeff first became aware of Corenthal or the children's home - I think he said they were all there together? - and how did he figure that out?

What you have to remember is that the doc mentions lack of sleep at the end of the notes. Spelling mistakes can be made a hell of a lot more when a person is tired.

Some of the letter does verge on sheer camp - "never have I seen a utensil buried so deeply in the human body."

Then you'll be happy to know that it was a fork.

In case anybody's wondering, the phone number on the documents is not working. Thought I'd give it a try, just in case.

Okay, the first runthrough of the code gives me this:

MLR NYYTTYX MY QJOUYMDYDKX FCVOMYZR TRV V HKOMTR VDJUN GJMLOYBR YDTL VZJMO.

The spaces are relatively arbitrary-- the only hard and fast ones are line breaks, to make reading easier.

The second way is:

GSV TMMWWMY GM IRHKMGHMOFY PBXHGMZV WVX WQFHGWV XORKT DRGSHM NV MOWS XZRGH.

I'm using http://img111.imageshack.us/i/iu2397nn3.jpg/ as a reference, as I've seen a very similar decryption of that code in books before.

edit: mind you, it might be worth it to look at it again, as looking at lines with dots in them for awhile would make anyone go blind.
