To people that are going to be at the AMC Citywalk and San Fran screening, **please** try to get a few extras?

I am willing to pay $25-$40 depending on what the swag is.

Now heres a dilemma. I have tickets to the Metreon in Sf where ""TRON: Legacy" director Joseph Kosinski will be on hand to answer your TRON questions. In addition, we will be handing out special TRON Night commemorative posters." BUT I live north of SF and have to work till like 4. Normally not a prob it's about 50 or so miles bout an hour right?
The Metreon is 1.2 miles (8 or so big city blocks) from AT&T Park where at 4:57pm game 2 of the World Series starts. There is gonna be no parking, and mass transit is gonna suck. Also the time frame, getting out of the city again will be crazy. I got tix for the east bay one also so im not totally screwed, but this is a tough one.

im no expert on NoCal, but couldnt you park n ride the bart to a station near the Metreon? if your work is distant enough, you could catch a train that is relatively empty. it wont get packed until you reach the impacted area, at which point you will exit the train anyway

Anyone going to the SF Metreon or the Bay Street AMC looking to give up their +1?

I missed my chance to get tickets, so I'll be rushing to the Metreon to get into the standby line after work. I'm a bit worried that I won't be able to get in because of the World Series and the director being there. I was kind of counting on the craziness in SF to dissuade some not to come, but who knows. I also live closer to the Bay Street theater, but it's definitely not a "real" IMAX.

I'm hoping I get lucky enough to at least get in, and I'm hoping I'm even luckier to get some goodies.

I'm going to the Riverside Tyler IMAX here in SoCal. I just received this email:

Quote:
You are about to experience the explosion of technology and imagination at TRON Night, an action-packed IMAX 3D experience. TRON Night will be your first opportunity to step onto the Grid and witness the cutting-edge, 3D world of Walt Disney Pictures' high-tech saga "TRON: Legacy." This is an exclusive event, featuring a 20-plus-minute sneak peek of the highly anticipated film, arriving in theaters December 17th, 2010. Please remember to bring your printed ticket, a valid photo ID, and your sense of adventure. Plan to arrive one hour prior to showtime – your selected theater location and showtime are printed on your ticket. If you arrive late, your ticket may be given away to guests waiting in the standby line. Your ticket will admit you plus one additional person. Although tickets are sold out, a standby line will form at each location to fill empty seats. This seating is not guaranteed and will be awarded to ticket-holders first. For further questions, please visit the TronNight 2010 FAQ page This will be an unforgettable ride – glad to have you aboard.

Sad Nothing about any freebies.......I hope we get something.

You guys have the screening event covered, so I'm going to ElecTRONica. I doubt there will be any ARG tie-in but if there is, will let you know.

As a special bonus, just for attendees of the Universal CityWalk IMAX Theatre screening, creator of the original TRON film and producer of "TRON: Legacy", Steven Lisberger will be on hand to answer your TRON questions. In addition, we will be handing out TRON Night commemorative posters, and giving away special TRON collectables.

Phooey. I picked the wrong LA screening. Crying or Very sad

Melbourne, Australia - IMAX screening.

Okay, so ten of us are now sitting around rambling on madly about what we saw Very Happy

Spoiler (Rollover to View):
There was a promo piece for the game first up.
It was a mix of game footage and interviews with the designers & film cast/crew.

Then we had a welcome screen... starting with Greeting Programs.
It informed us that we were the first to see the footage in the world (which isn't true, but we didn't care, lol!
It said that the first scene was 2D but designed to wear the 3D glasses during viewing... in other words, they wanted us to keep the glasses on all the way through.
The welcome message ended by informing us that it was from Joseph Kosinski followed by End Of Line Very Happy

Now on to the scenes...

We're now all debating what scene goes with what number, but the following numbers were shown: #20, #27, #32, #52, #56.

The opening scene was #20: Sam's Apartment.
The scenes we've already seen of Alan & Sam talking take place here. It's an extended version of course.

Sam then goes to the Arcade & we get more extended footage of what we've seen. Music blares as Sam goes through the Arcade and down to the lab.

Sam is then on the Grid and the Recognizer comes for him. Same footage as ElecTRONica mainly. Followed by the Sirens equipping him.

Now we get some new footage from the game grid. Sam takes a few moments to realise that he better get into the game or he'll die. He wins the Disc Wars battle and screams to the arena, "I won, now let me go!".

The next scene sees Sam in a Light Runner with a masked individual. We all know it's Quorra, but Sam has yet to see her without the helmet. Quorra skillfully gets rid of most of the Ligtcycles on her tail, blows a hole in the wall and drives the Lightrunner out the hole and into the air. The Lightrunner goes 4WD and drives away off grid, while a Lightcycle skids to a halt and watches (this is Rinzler, but this isn't revealed anywhere during this).

Quorra takes Sam to the Safehouse. There we see Kevin kneeling on the floor, his back to Quorra & Sam. Quorra talks with Flynn and he turns to see Sam. This is where the guys do the whole - Long time & You have no idea" bits, and Kevin hugs Sam. Flynn is out of it... very vague. He wanders off and says they'll talk over dinner. Sam is crying and Quorra talks to him. They discuss the vintage Lightcycle in the Safehouse.

We cut to Kevin looking out towards the Grid.

Then we get Castor telling Daft Punk to entertain everyone and the footage moves into a montage. It's all footage we've seen before except for the Lightplanes (some are saying it was Lightjets, so this is another debated point, lol). They're freakin' sweet looking!

So that was the footage.

As for swag... nothing. We were given flyers that show what items will be for sale (games, toys, books, costumes, etc.).

Still, we all had an awesome time and we're all dying for the film on December 16th here Very Happy

Hope you guys all have fun & please let us know if there are different things at your screenings, and how all the Q&As go Very Happy

No probs Smile
I typed all that out on my iPad as soon as I was out, but there were ten of us all talking so I'm sorry for it being a bit stilted in flow.
I fleshed it out a little more here if anyone is interested.
BTW, I saw on twitter that some people got glow sticks at their screening, so I guess it's going to be pretty random when it comes to swag.
There were a lot of disappointed people regarding swag at our screening, but we saw cool footage so I'm happy Very Happy

OK, I won't go there with any high expectations of bagging any swag! Just seeing the 23 mins is enough for me!

So would you say that this Tron Night is out of ARG then? i.e. nothing to do with the FlynnLives campaign

It's totally out of ARG, it's being run by Disney.

Although it doesn't make sense our last clue sent us to tronnight2010.com
