I know the feeling, but things do seem to be ramping up in a spectacular fashion quite quickly. I wouldn't be surprised if the next two boxes came to us pretty fast, and then the last two took more time again.

 		I think Vince is just being overshadowed by Evan and Jeff at the moment, and has kinda taken a back seat. His...well, I won't say 'crazy', because it seems rational, but his, reaction to what's been going on, has been to kind of withdraw, and try to gather up the last semblances of reality that are possible. I mean, at the start of the Ashen Waste video, he's sitting there at a table, talking at the camera, like this is still a show, after he FUCKING RAN SLENDER MAN OVER WITH HIS CAR (or Jeff did. Still, he said "gun it", that was awesome).

So I'm not suspicious of Vinny. Though, in the Slender Man video, he WAS smiling a helluva lot during the air siren segment, but I thought that came down to stress/a bad acting day. Maybe it was intentional? Who knows.

The latest tweet...well, I assume it would be the medical papers, some of which we got, some of which Alex got. That paper Alex found, though...I'm hoping he's got a new video on the way to explain it. Sounds like another clue. (EDIT BECAUSE I WAS TOO SLOW TO POST MY MESSAGE: And so he does.)

I'm starting to think that there might be more than just the Slender/Rake duo. If the sender of the Box was one of the Everymen, then why would the trail go to Alex's closet? Sounds like the Rake was fetching something for his master to give to a third associate.

The sender of the tweets, I doubt it's HABIT. Unless he bit himself.

...what is going on.

Well, I'd thought of this before. But then I kept thinking, and I sort of came to the conclusion that he's not supposed to have the biggest role, or the one who's supposed to be going insane or starting things up. He's Vinny "Everyman", your average Joe next door. He's the one little piece of normalcy that glues everyone and everything together as a cohesive group and narrative.


That's a great idea, Kor. Kind of makes Vin the Xander of the EMH Scoobies. I've also wondered if his name, and that of the series, is supposed to be some sort of nod to the Everyman play, which is a sort of allegorical journey of a guy being taken tby Death to meet God. I saw a production way back in high school, but the Wikipedia synopsis is much better than my memory could provide.

So what do you make of the Hybrid bit of the title? Evan is a hybrid creature/human? The whole shebang is a hybrid Slendy ARG and morality play? Or it's a hybrid ARG and standard narrative?

True, but we're approaching the point of no chance of any normalcy. I like the role he's played, but he's been a bit static. One of the things I've liked about EMH is their attention to details, characters, and plot. But besides starting to believe in Slendy, what real character development has he had? Evan and Jeff have had some (Jeff's also taken more of Vinny's leader role) and Alex seems like he's going to get more important.
That aside, I just really like Vince

The "HYBRID" part of the title, I honestly have no clue. It's possible that it has something to do with HABIT/Evan, that that very combination is itself a hybrid of something human and something else very monstrous. But then, at the same time, they also call of us "HYBRIDs"...which, now that I've typed that out, just became infinitely more creepy. Sad

Theory:

We know HABIT scribbles his name on everything. Frantically (see the note in the school)!! So why couldn't the tweet be from him - erase the Habits, and I'm sure that's what he wanted to say.

Maybe. But this is also assuming we're dealing with the same HABIT. It's been 40 years since Dr. Corenthal dealt with HABIT!Evan. So, whether or not our Evan is somehow illogically that same person, I think it might be best given the time gap to start thinking of HABIT less as one person, and maybe more as some sort of third time-spanning eldritch entity a la Slendy or the Rake, or even maybe as something more memetic than one entity.

I don't recall any pictures of him burned, though I'm not in a position to look right now.

In "Jeff" he answers the door with duct tape over his mouth though.

One of the main reasons I wanted "Slender man" and "Welcome to the ARK" to be canon was because of the character development (Evan and Vince especially). The way I was viewing it, WttA happened after SM, and Evan didn't remember attacking Vince... but Vince was still worried about everyone else and wanted to know if they were okay, even though he was clearly shaken up.

Just looked through the first and third box videos and the Sleep deprivation one real quick; no Alexs that I can see. Though, was I the only one to not realize that the photos in the Boxes aren't "new", and were all seen in the shrine in the Sleep deprivation?

(On an unrelated note, damn the Hybrid crew for having three of them wear black shirts in the Day in the Life video! Makes them harder to tell them apart when the faces are burnt <.<)

This. This so much. It's the best bit of character development that actually transcended being mind-raped in some form, the way Evan was starting to seem. You actually got more interaction between the Scoobies and them developing amongst each other, rather than all development being caused by people/things and events external to the core group. It became more than just someone losing their girlfriend or being visited by monsters, and became much more about how their actions and reactions will actually effect each other and change the way they deal with and regard the other people they're in this mess with.
