Don't worry Deltina. Failures Anonymous will give you all the love Melissa won't. Post your phone number and I'll call you once a week to tell you about what I ate that day.

Ensign krystyn, reporting for duty!

See my account HERE.

Dragonrider, you definitely need to read it. Melissa gave you a shout-out in our conversation.

There were no robots dancing during my axon hottening, but there sure was singing. Oh, my.

that was a great account, krystyn. thanks for putting that together.

i posted my account to Dana's blog since she seemed to be wanting them there. i think i'll cut and paste that under yours so they're all in the general vicinity of each other. Dana would probably like to here from you, also!

and, um, i have no idea where a sgt. stands in the rankings or even what an ensign is. though, um, i respect them. especially if they rank me!

Corporal Conrad Mazian
Marine Second Squad, Apocalypso

Reporting for duty.

Who's the officer on watch, sir? ma'am?

I've been contacted by the AI and need to file my report. (We all know that contacts must be properly logged and reported to maintain proper monitoring and control of the Navy's assets)

If you're not authorized for this information, I must advise you that I am permitted to use deadly force in the defense of Naval AI's.

Well, unless there were a couple middies tucked in on the cruise. For the ensigns to kick around, of course. Then THEY'd be lowest on the officer roster.

However, in theory the Ensigns also rank all the enlisted (of which the ship only has a couple at this point). Of course smart ensigns know which enlisted they can tell what to do and which ones they should listen to, so rank may not be the end of the analysis. Wink

Hey, it's one of the reasons I picked Ensign - I didn't want to pick something higher, and have Melissa say, "But I already have 35 Supremo Super Duper Commander God-like Beings, how can YOU be one, too??"

I figure, the lower you go, there more there can be of you. Generally speaking. Smile

Lt. weephun, checking in. Transcript of the call (at least what I wasn't asked to keep secret) posted over in the Interactions section.

Quoting myself to spec on this: What if the shout-out to Dragonrider was because we both chose the same rank? Because she was repeating my rank and my name a lot, and then she came up with the praise for other crew members and stuff - it almost seemed like she had been filing through her other conversations, and had matched up our ranks. Perhaps we're linked now, in some way? We have the same level of access?

Has anyone else chosen Ensign? (ETA that TuxKamen has! Tux, d'you remember a shout-out to Dragonrider, or anyone else by name?)

reporting

Failures Anonymous Member # 2 reporting for duty.

See my blundering attempt to talk to a real freaking person for a change here:
http://forums.unfiction.com/forums/viewtopic.php?p=74557&highlight=#74557

As members in Failures Anon, you get complementary untied shoes that make you trip a lot and a watch that is always 15 min slow when trying to enhottenate an axon!

No. Melissa did not mention anyone else to me when we spoke.

Did anyone try for a high enlisted rank, such as a petty officer, specifically, master chief petty officer?

Heh, I hope some one at least tried. I doubt it would've done much, but it might've given the PMs a chuckle.

Chappy is a Master Chief.

I debated several options, but decided on Ensign deliberately in order to avoid taking on responsibilities I might drop.
She mentioned one crew member specifically, a Dragonrider, who she described as "exceptional." I think she might've even said Dragonrider was one of her favorites.
She said that about me? I... Don't know what to say. I just hope I don't let her down...

Thanks for all the help, Officers. I'll see what I can do about cataloguing a Rank list for us.
