[SOLVED] "ADream"-> video @ DH.com (Sept 21)

New puzzle: www.dreadhouse.com

Spoiler (Rollover to View):
the answer to the riddle is "a dream". Leads to here: http://www.dreadhouse.com/adream.html

Looks like there are faint impressions from something that was written on the previous piece of paper of the notepad

SPEC: they meet, like eachother, fall in love.

Heather sighs. Crying or Very sad

odd letter breaks

Alright....not sure how much to spoiler, so I'll do it all in 2 groups.

Spoiler (Rollover to View):
The one thing that really jumped out at me is the really odd letter breaks within words, such as because (3rd line, 4th word) being more of "be ca use"

As a result, I....

Spoiler (Rollover to View):
decided to count up the letter within each letter grouping. I came up with the following:

113231111422312143213131223222322311141121321213324

At the risk of stating the obvious - spacing is unusual.

Broken by size of letter group:

1 2 1 4 3 2 1 3 1 3 1
2 2 3 2 2 2 3 2 2 3

Come join us in chat, dmax....we've got a few people there.

By the way, I've got a different count on that. By using your system, I get 2532154425544572755145754 (notice things like the space between n and g in having)

Maybe trout, or my bad eyes, but you can see a faint impression like you would on normal notebook paper of things written on before pages. Or maybe there is a layer underneath that I'm seeing. Anyway, I have no idea how to approach that, but maybe it would lead somewhere. Although now that I've typed it, seems more like a far stretch...

a little of both? i mean, yeah, it has been mentioned, but in this case, it doesn't seem so bad to mention it again. a bunch of us tried messing with the pic in PSP and PS and got nowhere. we were thinking it's not relevant, if anything, a red herring....

I was checking out the faint impressions, and they're not deep enough to possibly get anything from them.

Damn my messed up computer, I'm missing a great game!

Well, I don't know if this will help, but here's a list of the letters based on the breaks:

Spoiler (Rollover to View):
i k g b a d d k d p s i a m e d m r
ha ms ab ar an it mi be be ca of wh to ou fr
eep vin out dee pit ght use ere eet new mut ual
elsd reat unnh eadi end

I wish I could help...
EDIT: that last line looks mighty anagrammable...

By letter groups, counting the word breaks, the counts can be broken into groups of 5:

Spoiler (Rollover to View):
1 1 3 2 3
1 1 1 1 4
2 2 3 1 2
1 4 3 2 1
3 1 3 1 2
2 3 2 2 2
3 2 2 3 1
1 1 4 1 1
2 1 3 2 1
3 3 3 2 4

Not that the lowest number is 1, the highest is 4. Anyone familiar with a cipher that looks similar to this?

And to make matters more complicated, if you ignore the word breaks, the counts can also be broken down into groups of 5:

Spoiler (Rollover to View):
2 5 3 2 1
5 4 4 2 5
5 4 4 5 7
2 7 5 5 1
4 5 7 5 4

With this grouping, the numbers range from 1 to 7. My gut feeling tells me this isn't the way to go. Of course, my guts could be wrong, if so, I'll be looking into a gut transplant.

I only make a note of the groups of 5 thing because it's been an ongoing theme with a couple of the UH puzzles.

adream.html has changed

Spoiler (Rollover to View):
Looks like it was a puzzle. Jaimie was kind enough to give me my ASCII art. Well, not art, but it's like a previous puzzle, where you had to move the image to see the text beneath.

Link to the important image....

seems to point towards a Nihilist substitution or transposition...

(btw, on dream.html, to "drag" the note out of the way to show glimmer.jpg below, you have to click left of the margin, but above the first/second blue line)
