Well, my friend that I sent out was already on the way by the time she posted, so he decided to go have a look anyway. I can confirm that the box is indeed gone. The boys must not have trusted that anyone would have a GPS because he found purple tape arrows marking the trails and guiding to a tree with a purple tape ring around it.

Oh, awesome pictures! I do love the colour of purple on trees. This is going to make waiting even harder!

Hey guys, someone have checked Damsel's last post? Yes, I know that it's old news, since it was in almost a month later, but I was thinking that we have something new there:

The last line, about the passage? Is strike-through(ed) now :

Quote:
North or south,

nothing changes.

They put me through a mandatory psychological-evaluation. A series of photographs, quotations, and copies of my art were presented. They have no basis to fully arrest me, but after analyzing the results of said evaluation, deem it necessary to detain me.

Whether it's a rat in a shoebox or King Charles of Zembla in his formerly-majestic palace, a prison's a prison. I'm not sure how long I'll be gone.

Thank you all for your help. And for being there since this all happened.

Whatever they do to me, Jessa, I hope you're okay.

I'm sorry you couldn't see the truth.

(I've left a small passage on the post-queue. Maybe it will explain some things. Probably not.)

Yours,

But that's is not what it was when posted, as described on this post by Anonymousity.

Someone else noticed?

I'm pretty sure it was always struck through like that. It was just bolded for emphasis when it was posted here because it seemed important, I think.

A few random thoughts:

Slenderpump? I LOLed. Smile

Grieck is right, since the tweets vanish immediately it makes sense that they're directed at us, the audience, unless it's the manifestation of the internal struggle between the Hypothetical Possessed Hybrid and Let's Call It Habit. Assuming the former, I'm guessing the "her" we couldn't save would almost have to be Damsel. This kind of makes sense if they're playing by real-world rules regarding involuntary commitment--she would have to have been either evaluated to be in need of long-term monitoring, which I understand is pretty rare, or released on the 25th or 26th. Since we didn't hear anything from her after those dates, it's a decent assumption that she had a hostile visitor waiting for her after she got out.

Great work getting the box! Like everybody else, I'm shivering in antici...

...well, you know.

Have we seen the newly tweeted pic before? It looks familiar, but I'm too lazy to go digging right now. Maybe Jeff's shirt is significant, I dunno. Is it just another reminder that Jeff misses Jessa. Maybe it's trying to force us to dig for some clue we missed? I dunno.

The recent uptick in output could just be in honor of Halloween week, or it could be suggesting that they're trying to move toward endgame. This kind of makes OOG sense, I think, since the upcoming Christmas break will give them more free time to finish things up. I hate to see this end, though.

See, the fact that Christmas and Winter are coming makes me hope they don't end it too soon. I have this weird obsession with wanting to see Slendy in a barren, snow-covered forest.

There needs to be some Slender Man ARG set in a snowy land, yes. Like Russia.

Maybe not that far away, but whatever. Razz

Oooh, that would be fantastic!

This may be a brand new epileptic tree, but maybe not. As we all know, EMH is friendly to literary references, having included quotations from Pale Fire and House of Leaves. I started thinking about the purple tape, and...well, I know this is a long shot, but could the color purple be a reference to The Color Purple?

Alice Walker wrote:

"What do it do when it pissed off?" Celie asks.

"Oh, it make something else. People think pleasing God is all God care about. But any fool living in the world can see it always trying to please us back."

"Yeah?" I say.

"Yeah," she say. "It always making little surprises and springing them on us when us least expect."

If you take the HoL quote as possibly suggesting Slendy's godhood, the above quotation becomes pretty damned creepy.

See, I have this other epileptic tree. With all of the references to the elements, the Ark, floods, and Slendy's awesome chrono-spatial powers, I couldn't help but think, "What if the Slender Man = YHWH?"

He likes burning things = the Burning Bush. People say they can hear him in their heads where we can't = divine revelation. He looks similar to us, so it's not a stretch to say we were "made in his image." And despite his reputation as a death dealer, he for some reason really seems to enjoy forests, these large swaths of what is essentially a life-bearing force.

As happy as that would make me I can't imagine a bunch of 20 yr old (presumably) straight college boys reading deeply enough into The Color Purple to get much out of it...

Have you seen Jeff's personal website? I could totally see it from him, if not any of the others.

Good point, but isn't The Color Purple often assigned in high school and freshman English classes? I thought I'd heard that, at least, and googling "required reading" "the color purple" pulls up a bunch of relevant hits. It's possible it's something they didn't even have to go looking for it, as I'm assuming discussion of that passage would be inevitable in a classroom setting.

EDIT: I kind of like the Slendy=YHWH idea, but it does seem a little provocative. He does have a fondness for animal sacrifice, though. Smile
