So it's safe to assume that William has gone the way of Linnie?

That's my guess. Maybe Corenthal will be able to save Rose, though. Then Rose would be the Doctor's companion. Wink

The possibly relevant idea from the Eternal Champion thing is that in every age there is a handful of recurring individuals, usually having a similar name in each occurrence. In each age, each of these individuals plays over and over again the same role in a great struggle. This would explain how our Hybrids currently appear to have been children in the 1970s and 20-somethings in 2010--they're just different instances of the same phenomenon. Of course, this would make them every bit as preternatural as Slenders and the Rake, which is unsatisfying; on the plus side, it would explain the mystery of why none of them appear to have parents. Very Happy

It is cheesy as hell, but I'm not sure it's any cheesier than time travel or safe houses in alternate dimensions. However this thing wraps up, I'm afraid it's going to be dripping with some variety of cheese.

Cheesy? The Tall Man would like a word with you.

EDIT: In retrospect, Yahtzee's "Tall Man" is surprisingly similar to the Slenderman. No face, very tall, very thin, sharply-dressed (in a black suit), ominous and seemingly omnipotent, drives men mad (and kills them)....

EDIT again: See this: http://media.photobucket.com/image/The%20Tall%20Man%20Chzo/Arkhein/tallman.jpg

in fact....

I finished reading 20+ pages of this thread, got all caught up, was about to go to bed, and then I had a thought and had to run back to my computer to share it...

Child Vinnie, in the report, said that the Rev. didn't know that the Man didn't like sharing. I think people assumed that the Man didn't like sharing Vinnie with the Rev., but what if the Man didn't like the Rev. telling Vinnie about him? Then, when Vinnie's parents want to tell the police, he gets worried because he knows what happens to people that tell or 'share' about the Man?

The only real thing dragging down the time travel thing is the fact Jeff has a brother and he mentions his family (I don't think papers about him have been released, though), and the fact when Slendy first appears to them he goes in Evan's parent's room. I remember Vince stating that's what the room was at one point.

I'm thinking the boys just being parallels to these psycho-kids is more likely at this point.

To be fair, the only one we haven't gotten medical papers from 1971 for is Jeff. I don't think we've ever heard anything about Vince or Evan's families. I would imagine they have them, though.

I like the parallel idea a lot better, but as of now I'm just waiting to see where they're going with this. I'm sure if they meant to introduce time travel as a plot device they'd have thought it out, so I'm not too worried.

Perhaps instead of time travel, the boys were kept "asleep" for a while. Their memories erased, their bodies kept from aging... a sort of time travel but it's certainly more plausible than a magic phone booth.

Maybe it's less to do with time travel and more to do with reincarnation?

Slendy is hunting the EMH boys throughout time itself?

This sort of dovetails with my theory that the "Ark" is, in fact, a place "outside of time". As seen in the WttA video, it is a world perpetually trapped in a moment of rainstorm, bereft of living things (at least ones we recognize). Due to the weird temporal nature, both people and electronics would have difficulty functioning properly (as the moment never passes, recording it to memory, living or digital, would be extremely difficult) and, possibly, upon leaving the Ark, everyone would forget their time inside.

Just a theory that's been bouncing around in my head. There's plenty of them in there... it's like a friggin' ping-pong ball rainstorm in my skull sometimes. Razz

I really like this theory! Only problem would, again, be their parents... so, unless the Hybrids' families are robots (...!), imaginary (like, they only *think* they have parents, kind of like Evan in the Slender Man video, talking to the chair(Actually, that'd be really damn creepy, I like it)), or *they've* had their memories wiped, it wouldn't work )=. And, with that last one, just wiping wouldn't be enough, you'd have to build them *new* memories, too, or else they're going to be pretty darn confused

If this is the case, how do them watching videos of them doing the fitness series fit in?

Jeff is the one who saw these papers, held them and came up with this stuff seemingly out of the blue. He's also the one who never referred them back to us and shrugged off their disappearance. He's also exhibited his share of overtly weird behavior, including in WTTA. I assume there's a letter about him somewhere out there as well and that EMH is going to let that shoe drop, since if you only take things at total face value, they've painted him as the crusader of late.

Funnily enough, that's oddly similar to the plot of Just Another Fool. Well, the plot released by the creator after he ended it (no one figured it out in time).
