Re: Post-Traumatic/Sexual Deviation concentration

Right, that's why it was clumsy. Smile I think they were trying to come up with a medical-y sounding way of saying "guy who deals with the trauma kids experience after being molested" and failed.

You know how in a book's index you'll see a heading like "Pies" and then indented under it subheadings for "Blueberry", "Apple", and "Damned Good Cherry"? I think that's the sort of thing they were going for with the slash between "Post-Traumatic" and "Sexual Deviation"; they were going for "sexual abuse victims" as a subset of "post-traumatic stress sufferers". But...well, they kind of missed the mark. That whole sentence is, IMO, uncharacteristically clumsy for them.

That makes sense. lol. I thought it was a bit odd for Vinnie as a child to be a paraphiliac when I read the letter lol.

True, but yeah, paedophilia is a type of paraphilia. I shuddered just now about the whole "I guess the Reverand didn't know Man didn't like to share".

That had been my original thought on reading the letter and found it one of the most horrifying things in the series so far. When you mentioned it again just now, I had a real "Oh, fuck!" moment: maybe now we know why, in the very origins of Slender Man, he was pursuing children. Sad

Others here think that Slendy had claimed Baby Vince as belonging to him in a more general, less rapey sense. I really hope that's the case.

I seriously hope that its a less rapey sense. I'm sort of hoping that it's because children can be easily manipulated and persuaded rather than.....used............so to speak. Their minds must be easier to get into than an adults.

Like I said earlier, I think its more of a Slenderman is possessive thing. For whatever reason Slendy saw Vince as his property, I really don't think its anything more than that.

The paranormal preying on/targeting kids is a major theme in horror/supernatural stories, just look at anything from the Sixth Sense to older fairy tales. Even the Candle Cove creepypasta targets children. Its even part of Slendy's original MO. I doubt its anything more sinister than that.

That's what I was getting at when I said that it'd be easier for Slendy to get into a child's mind rather than an adults.......then again, you do get some really weak adults too.
Kids in horror movies always scare me.......creepy adults are made creepy.....creepy kids are BORN that way lol.

So if Slendy goes after people that have a 'childs mind', and this is just for my own thoughts, it would be just as easy for him to attack a mentally retarded person. Most will have a 'brain' age under ten, in some of the more severe cases.

This would also bring in some one with a weakened mind, like if someone was born with schizophrenia. That mental age, with its warped view of reality, really would make a perfect victim.

He's already there, he just lost his hat.

And his beautiful singing voice.

Also, he's much taller now, thanks for noticing!

(BTW, that's one of my all time favorite freaky movie moments)

I was hoping for a video today, but I'm kind of glad they didn't put one up at the same time. It seemed rather obvious i guess.

I just wanted to say that I seriously hope that they don't go with the "Slenderman is a creepy pedophile" "twist" because that would be... I don't know... lame? Unneccesary? Making Slenderman more... human? Part of the mysterious nature of Slender Man is that it isn't human, that it's like trying to figure out the reasoning and logic of a parasyte or an insect. Maybe Slender Man is acting as a malevolent guardian of one of the boys? (Vinnie?)

Also, there's something bugging me about Evan's posts with him and his missing g/f, but I can't put my finger on it. Some of them seem... off, like we're missing something important yet subtle.

I don't know much about this Animal Collective group (...you kids and you're damn noise...why, back when i was young we...)

Is it at all possible that this is all some viral marketing deal for them. Not that i would stop watching, but ya know, that's kinda lame.

I'm sure I'm wrong, and I hope someone can at least assuage my fear of this.

I can see it now..

"*Evan, Vince, and JEff are all violently dragged away by SlenderMan to their certain dooms and Rake kills Alex.. Rake and Slenderman then approach the camera and say... "Buy Animal Collective's new Urban Legends CD! IT'S AWESOME!" They then walk away and cut to black. The End.*"

Yeah...no. There's far too many references, homages and everything else in this series to make it some sort of promotional thing.

I really hope we get a video tomorrow at least.

Can't be.

It's a promo for Powerade.

Speaking of Powerade, I think the markings on the Powerade bottle are blood stains.
