Congrats to the ranked beekeepers! I am very envious of your chance to talk with Melissa.. ;-;

There are three in the Utah area, but because of school stuffs I wasn't able to get out and answer any. I plan on getting at least 2 tomorrow:

14:55
40.619493 -111.857078

18:15 PDT
40.725279 -111.859520

Seems like I'm the only one left in Utah that's still playing.

I'm noticing, though, that the number of axons in my area have decreased to the three that I've answered frequently. I thought that was kind of interesting.

I wish luck to everyone.

DC (mostly not me) got 21 of the 32 DC/Northern Virginia axons we are watching today. Wowza. Mega kudos to Cdr Mike_Was, Master Chief Chappy and Cortana, with a little help from me, Kakashi117 and the arlingtonstranger. Very Happy And the mysterious enhottenator of the 10:11 PDT axon. We're taking credit for it, might as well fess up!

I'm annoyed that the nearest axons to me were two difficult hours away. I either had to drive into the maze that is Pittsburgh, or drive to middle-of-nowhere, WV. I live in a city with the state university, and the only WV axon was down in freaking Spencer.

Meanwhile, the DC people had over a dozen axons. Gah.

There's always next Tuesday. Come on down!

Something interesting about the 19:13 axon. I think for the first time, Melissa was LATE. Ariock, hmrpita, DarkForge and I were there, we knew which phone it was. I had just synced my watch to atomic time (the phone number you call and it tells you the exact time) and other axons were on par with my watch. The time came, no ring, and no CALL. We waited a few minutes, then decided to head out. Just then the phone rings. This is around 19:19. DarkForge answers, and it's just the regular recording. 19:13 looked to be the last axon of the day, but it was weird that the call be late. The same kind of thing happened to me at the 14:13 earlier today. The phone did not ring, and there was no call waiting for me when I picked up. I couldn't stick around because I had about 5 min to get to the next axon. I'll go by the 14:13 tomorrow and wait a little longer this time.

The recipe1.html page has archived (except for the clips not yet gotten), but seeming to signal the end of the funnest part of this phase - crew recruitment.

ALSO - this means no more phone calls where the clips are gotten! No more needed for the 777 count, I guess.

If anybody gets axons today and gets another "live" call, let us know.

Calls only going to axons for:

Man......I wish I could help out.......crates_and_a_dolly and one_point_oh are both about a half hour away from me, but I dont think I'm going to be able to make it down this morning/afternoon. It looks like alot of Seattle axons have been hit allready though so Im sure they will get done. I wish I could at least get one axon instead of just monitoring whats happening from the site everyday. Mad

aliendial I disagree. I think the spikes will still ocurr, but we may have to wait till the next round (if there is one). The reason why I think this is because it seems like they'd want to involve more people, especially after all the hard work that's gone into all of this.

Maybe I'm wrong though.

Well that part is just spec. There may be more live recruitment today, which is why I reminded folks to report if it happens. The important part of the message is: DON'T GO GET MORE AXONS WHERE THE SOUND CLIP HAS BEEN UNLOCKED!

Wow, apparently lots of us wanted the chance to talk one-on-one with Melissa. 157 axons hot yesterday, way to go guys. Beat the previous daily record by 59! Only 10 wav files left (1 comatas, 6 recipe1, 3 recipe3). Lets get out there and finish this phase off! Spreadsheet has been updated, except for the Combo table as that's enormous and I actually have to get some work done today. Maybe Catherwood will update that later on.

Lt. weephun signing out!

Shit, I better go to my axons today, otherwise they're gonna close... Damn.

Just a quick note that the Axion cancellation does not seem to take effect right away.
I noticed that "not_for_me" had 4/5 axions yesterday, and today there are 8 successful axions listed. If the axions were cancelled right away it would only be possible to active the threshold value of each group (In this case 5 Axions).
I think it's fair to assume they are not cancelled until the next day.

This is a total cross post, but I'd hate for someone to not go to a 4/5 axion thinking they may end up waiting by a cold phone if the group is completed.

I think the cancellation takes effect sooner rather than later. SpaceBass still got a call at 7:39 after not_for_me had already gone hot, but I did not get my call at 7:43. Oh well...on to the next phase!

Ouch,

That's an unfortunate way to go about the immediate archive process.
I'll defiantly defer to LouMac on this one. The voice of experience always trumps the voice of SPEC.
