Do you guys think Slender Man himself is personally responsible for putting these fleshy bits in the bags, or does he drive people to do horrible acts of murder and butchery?

Because I need some sort of excuse for my trial tomorrow.
I can't picture Slender Man, in his suit, no face, actually gutting people then getting some garbage bags, bagging the leftovers like they're tomorrow's lunch, then hanging them in trees to keep away from dogs. I mean, try to actually picture him stuffing guts into bags. It don't sit right.

Personal opinion.

Just wondering, why not? He does gut people, and has been known to hang organs in trees. I think that the garbage bags are just a more tasteful touch.

That being said, in Damsel's case I wouldn't be remotely surprised if He compelled her to do it, given Damsel's....questionable sanity involving Slendy.

A part of the original mythos was that he DID do such things, we just did not know how he did it, which makes it much more horrifying than him using a mortal pawn to do it. Not saying that he couldn't have used Damsel or Evan or anyone else for any known instance of arson or murder, just that he's very much capable of doing so on his own, through means that are unknown, and all the more horrifying.

.... And a thought that just occurred to me about this is 'why does he do all of these things? Why the intricate murders, shattered lives, and leaving a scar upon the internet with the numerous blogs, vlogs, and associated media?' The answer I came up with? He's wooing the internet in an elaborate love poem consisting of blood, gore, and well written stories. >.>

That's so endearing. Horrifying, but endearing.
Slendy just needs some attention! Maybe he wasn't hugged enough as a baby!Slendy.

Mayhaps, another reason for his protection of baby!Vince?
"Bad touch! He needs an adult!"

*pants after reading about 40 pages of EMH*

EMH is awesome.

Eagerly looking forward to more.

Thank you nice bag-finding lady (and friends, I assume)

+1 for EMH subforum. This is a full-fledged ARG IMO and has been for some time.

An EMH subforum is definitely a must... has anyone PM'd one of the mods, or would that just annoy them?

Now, I'm a newcomer to this site, so I don't know the appeal or lack thereof of subforums, forums, or anything like that. It's been a while since I've even been on any forum. But with the whole 'EHM subforum' thing, what's the appeal? I kind of like that all this info is in one place, so I don't have to go to a dozen or so threads for updates and the newest theories or factoids. Is there any validity or lack thereof for that, or am I just being a whiner?

Well, a subforum would allow for multiple threads with some separation of topics. It ideally would help people know what happened if there were a rash of posts. If there were a ton of new posts in a Damsel-thread, then maybe everyone would think to check the blog, then look at the thread. As opposed to new posts in a speculation thread or in a box/cache thread.

Of course, this depends on people's abilities to stay on topic.

I have a nagging little question about the wiki. Why is it in absolutely illegible colors? It's medium gray on grayish green, and I can't even read the thing.

Ideally it would allow discussion on the official materials to be separated from speculation. One of the biggest things in this thread is theorizing on how each clue fits in, what it could mean, etc. and this also means that a lot of information gets lost in the flood. You'll see people posting the same thing on multiple pages simply because at the pace this thread moves they don't see it. This thread is huge and a subforum could manage the bloat.

All righty, thank you folks for breaking that down for me. I didn't mean to detract from the main focus here.

I dunno, I kinda like it all being in one place, and particularly in order. I'd be against a subforum because of that; piecing together what happens WHEN would be too confusing.

The problem with a subforum is that then you'd have 50 different threads popping up every time something new happened.... everybody wants to be the first person to post about something new, and nobody bothers to check first. Just look at how many "OMG GUYS IT'S BACK!" posts appeared in the Marble Hornets subforum when that twitpic was tweeted last week.

I think we're better off with a single thread... although if all the ridiculous o/t stuff was somewhere else it would be better.

What about something like this

EMH Main:
Can you see the words
WSA
Related but not offically IG stuff (like the two videos, one which was taken down)
EMH Speculation (for stuff like my Rake is a non merged Slenderman.)
off topic: (for more joke stuff/ fan vidoes and the like

The only setup I can see helping somewhat would be EMH Main, EMH speculation, and EMH random crap. Otherwise, you're splitting stuff that should be seen sequentially. Plus a lot of people wouldn't read EMH speculation. >_>;
