I switched my LARPing persona as soon as I saw the word video.

Because my friend has a Sonic Screwdriver, and I can not have to drive to the woods to be a Doctor knockoff.

This is going to be interesting. I may have to get a friend or two with me on this. Good thing I have a cape. I'll have to invert it, though, there's lotsa stuff on the outside. Hm..

This will be fun; I'm probably going to have to do all the LARPing and video-taking by myself since no one nearby would be willing to associate themselves with LARPing. Go go solo LARPing!

Yeah, I'm kind of in the same boat. I don't have a video camera so I will probably be riding this one out on the sidelines as well.

I'm interested to see what the scoring will be like for the forum challenge and being active on the boards (they haven't been put up yet) and see if that can compete in any way with the first recruitment challenge. I might be optimistic, but that combined with getting a token from a founder must be an alternate route to getting the 500 points for those unable to take part in video challenges?

That's a good point, Karija! The way the LARP Hard site is set up, it looks like basic participation outside of the challenges would be an important part of the point system. Discussion boards, photo uploads, blog posting...if you want to show how "hard you LARP" as they say, video doesn't seem like the only option. After all, we all were supposedly kicked from a LARPing community at some point for unconventional/extreme LARPing. Who says you need a video to show your hard LARPing abilities?

On that note, perhaps we could use the discussion board as an alternate LARPing place. I was thinking that one could modify basic forum roleplay into semi-live roleplay by adding a photo of us "in character" doing something in the post we wrote.

Example: I'm a fairy bard, and I'm singing to you, a bartender, a story of one of my adventures. I'd write a post describing the story and how I would tell it as well as post a picture of me in my fairy costume playing a guitar or recorder. You could post your reaction to my story as your character would and add a picture of you in a suitable outfit by a counter/table with a mug.

The concept of character interaction and being in character is still there, but you don't need a video to do it.

Well, I have a webcam, possibly a digital camera that also takes video and absolutely no shame. I thought I might have had some left after PT, but now I realize that's impossible. O.o

There's more than one way to do a video as well. Slide shows and the like can be put up on youtube/[insert whichever video sharing site you desire here]!

I have a friend who could want to join even though he missed the two initial point-giving activities (names, mud people challenge). He'll assist me and Ozhu filming and larping, if we can manage to even find the time to do the challenge.. School's quite busy atm, and the deadline was short.

Fare thee well

I am also going to say goodbye. Posting video/pictures? I thought this was an ARG? I thought we were going to solve things, not give things away. Sorry, maybe later it will become more interesting.

Thanks for joining in this far, lovetick!

Eliza responded to my request for information about Sophia and asks what kind of information pertaining to Sophia I would be interested in. Are there any particular questions on your mind when it comes to her relationship between Sophia? I'm not the best with coming up with good questions, but I can probably weave your suggestions into an in-character response.

Random edit: Does having exactly 42 posts have its own rank? If so, that is awesome!

(1) How did she die - in other words, how was that she came to be fighting the dragon?

Probably could sum it up somehow in that you want to end your epic tale of her adventures with the tragedy of her demise, so need more information on how that happened?

(2) Who were her friends and enemies?

(3) What was her LARP story? Although most of the founders have different LARP universes, their story lines seem to merge here and there in relation to each other, so figuring out who she was would probably be helpful.

(4) Maybe favorite memory of her or something, that might spark something with clues.

I haven't had another messages from Eliza, but I have been in contact with Preening Fox. Don't know if I should be spoiling private messages or not?
Spoiler (Rollover to View):
She doesn't like Randy's character at all. She's actively hunting him and says he's a threat. She hasn't told me why, yet. Galavant also has a crush on her, apparently.

Her last message to me (Laughing Horse is Galavant):
Laughing Horse is often a fool. You could escape him easily if he tried to burn you. He thinks he is very clever with his sneaking around, but I see him.

It is not only men that are foolish, though. Witches and great ladies can also be trouble. However, they know to stay out of my way. They do not spook the buffalo, and they leave my corn in peace. Sometimes they join in my sacred dancing. Of the men only Grant knows to fear me properly. He is more clever than he looks.

There are more men, now. It was not that way before. There are now fewer people to hunt. Not that I spend much time hunting anyone but Beauregard. He is the greatest threat. Metal Head I do not hunt. He is strong, and keeps to himself, so there is no need. Also, he does not show his weaknesses. It would be difficult. </Preening>

Also, from some messages from Randy:
Spoiler (Rollover to View):
I sent him an angry letter because they called me a coward in the video Smile Part of his response:

Here's the real answer to your question: LARP HARD is a beacon. It's refuge fer folks like me who been kicked out over and over. Lacerus seems real tough, and he is. He ain't mean, though, even with all his wicked LARPin'. When he offered to let me and Thomas Grant join after I caused all that trouble with our old group, I coulda hugged him (if it wouldn't have been so sissy to do it). </response>

Does anyone know what he's referring to in the last sentence (causing problems in an old group?) Just not sure if I missed something or not, I'll ask him about it anyway. Maybe Grant/Earl, too.

Good questions and thank you for the suggestion when it comes to the first question! I'll start working on my reply with those thoughts in mind, but I'll refrain from posting for a little (until the end of the day or tomorrow morning perhaps) to see if anyone else had questions they would want answered.

As for spoilering PMs, I think it would make sense to do so. After all, they are sending those particular replies to you. They might not trust us all to that extent (when it comes to Preening Fox, for example), and so the rest of us would not always come to know that knowledge sent to you. I'm not sure how it works for other ARGs, but from a roleplay background and LARP Hard being a semi-roleplay environment, the spoilers make sense.
