Fitting

I went and got a couple of the Masks, however, I've found that they don't really fit all that well. The eyes are rather low. D'you guys open them up more, or do you remove part of the chin near the bottom, or just leave it be?

They aren't actually meant to be worn, the packaging says that they are only for decoration. I think they put the eyes low so people don't try to wear them, but no one really follows that rule...

I didn't open mine up more, I just left it as it is. Since you got a couple of em', experiment and see what works best.

Yeah, I suppose I should play with 'em a bit and see. I did find the forehead rather tall, and the chin rather high. Ah well, I'll figure it out.

Well at least now I know all that. I first wondered why mine was like that. However, I gave up on asking.

So I'm officially being Masky for Halloween, heres a picture album of my mask. The album has never-before seen pics in it, along with a custom (X) shirt I made:

I plan to do the same, pictures will come after I paint. How did you paint yours?

Mainly using the advice of other users on here Laughing

But what I did was first draw the lips, eyes, and eyebrow designs on the mask in pencil. (for the eyebrows you might want to trace something small and round, like half a bottle cap.) Next, I filled in the lips and eyes area with acrylic paint. (It's very cheap BTW, about $0.54 for just one bottle). Then for the eyebrows, I traced over my pencil design in sharpie.

Something else I did that is entirely optional though, is make a border around my mask.

If you look closely you can see it in this picture:

What I did to make that was wrap the edge of the mask in masking tape. This will make a stencil. When you wrap it, make sure you have about 6-7mm of the edge of the mask exposed. Then paint that area, wait for it to dry and then remove the tape.

Hope that helps!

Thanks. I'll probably do mine this weekend, with any luck, just in time for Halloween.

I'm still considering removing excess mask, up on the top of the forehead and the jutting edge around the bottom. That way I can fit it on my face better.

So today was the day people at my school dressed up.

I took some new pics of my mask, along with some friends and other amazing costumes.

As usual you can see the album here:

Looks like fun! I love the guitar pic. I just imagine Masky singing a terrifying rendition of "Banana Pancakes."

I'll see your OX t-shirt, and raise you one hoodie.

Apologies for crappy webcam photos.

The sleeve and back are done with paint, and the handprints. The cuff, pocket detail, and little 'Marble Hornets' on the breast are embroidered.
Just saying: never embroidering again.

{EDIT:} Derp derp, spelling. Also, please ignore my face in those photos. I am horribly ill.
