 Who is Mysterio?

Well, the question is more than important. Because Mysterio is the key character in the story.
But I have some doubts about Mysterio beeing probably mother of Josh. I actually hope, that she is alive, and perhaps is accompanying Joshs father in their secret mission, but... Mysterio as Joshs mother is just psycologically not fitting. I mean, if his mother would fake here fate and than chat with Josh in this cold and anonymous tone, it weren't his real mother. I mean, mother instinct and stuff. Perhaps.

But we have really to discuss the identity of Mysterio.

On the other hand, what if he is Joshs father?

In contrast to your "Luke, I am your father" photo from Star Wars, considering my thought about Mysterio/Mom, I just recalled the Mary Rice/David Rice moment at the conclusion of "Jumper." Can't recall much, but just came to my mind for some reason.

Yeah, for the most part it's bad when they change the book...

though I'm glad they did change the ending in "The Natural."

I just can't see Roy Hobbs throwing the game, and then when Kirk Gibson had his "Roy Hobbs" moment in the World Series, I've gotta admit, that'll be one of those sports moments I can't imagine ever forgetting.

The movie didn't change the book at all, it's still the same way it was before. The movie is different from the book, that is all. I don't like it when one says a movie changes a book. Call it a pet peeve of mine. They are two different mediums that cannot simply be ported without substance loss. Something has got to give.

Anyways, that was off topic! Mysterio is a terrible name for this fellow. I suggest... Rand Miller. Yep. I like it!

We all have pet peeves, and I'm not criticizing you--I just had recalled how in the Bernard Malamud's novel, Roy struck out and and the impression was that Roy had taken up the Judge's offer and threw the game.

I'm in complete agreement that there is no way (that I can conceive of) for a novel to be perfectly replicated on film. In novels, we add so many details to flesh out the book, whereas on film, there's really no doubt about how Princess Lea (probably wrong spelling) looks, walks, and her accent.

I think the "Mysterio" name is cool. It conveys his myseriousness and that his identity is a mystery - oooooh yeah it's a mystery.
