[INFO] Live Calls- Random or Not? I don't think that these calls were random. I talked to some fellow
beekeepers at an Axon site who had gotten a "live call" earlier in
the day and they had something interesting to report.
Melissa actually stated that there was a fountain near them and asked
them if it was on. She told them to think carefully about it. After locating
the fountain they told her it was on and they passed the "are you real"
test.
They might have chosen random sites but they chose them and
researched them.
Anyone else get specific questions about things at their locations?
Not just the "tell me what you see" variety but a question that reveals
prior knowledge of where you were standing?

Did anyone here post that they would be at one of these locations and
not make it?

nothing of the sort here. but i got the 3rd live call. it seems in general from the posted accounts that the earllier calls were more scripted while the later calls were allowed to be a little more conversational, a little more creative.
plus i think we were a little more off-guard when no wav clip started.

[SPEC} the axons chosen for live calls were from proven axons with a track record of going live, BUT with quite active players who were active in here AND on the axon. that made them more of a confirmation that they wold be at a particular phone at a particular time.
Being by a fountain at a time doesnt guarantee sucess alone. Already discovered THAT at the promenade!

How did they know it was an active player until they introduced themselves? They didn't. And for Krystyn this was her first actual axon get (she witnessed others), and the phone was not one they told the SP they would be at. So, neither active phone players nor planned phone contact.
The only control I see being exerted was to try to do a little geographic distribution - but only if you count everyone who reported a call, and not just the spikes which are 4/6 east of the Mississippi.

from reading in here, of course. There are some players quite active and you can guarantee them being at the particular axon, so methinks the players are pretty much picked up with a 90% sucess rate unless somsone else jumps in that is not expected....

I think this is probably sound SPEC. [SPEC] They probably called various regions until they got a valid spike (one that passed all criteria) and then stopped calling the area. [/SPEC]

Go west young man! Hooray for those of us out west of the Mississippi!

Decent guess, but I believe Mann Alive had never posted in this forum before he got "spiked" yesterday. I'm inclined to think it was simply phones that got answered consistently, and, alas, had nothing to do with quality or quantity of forum participation.
(Although that certainly wasn't what I thought when I saw that xnbomb had hit the first one! )

I have to agree with this theory. I knew that my axon was as likely as anything because it was the only one in our city to have been around since the beginning *and* hit every week. When I heard that live calls were going out that day, I was 90% sure that that one would be 'the one'.
