So Jeff found a nasty bag in the nature walk... we just keep getting bad news from that walk, damn. Lends further kindle to the fiery question of why Evan was laughing so hard when the bag burst open in Joke's Over.

Welcome, new guy whose name I've already forgotten! I think you might be a little confused. a bunch of the clips in tonight's video were from (or shot at the same time as) an earlier video called "A Day in the Life" which is on the EMH channel. It was a hike they went on before Jessa disappeared. The person running in that segment is Evan with (I think?) longer hair.

Hope that helps clear up some confusion, and welcome to our little pocket of Slenderized insanity.

The hair style is Jeff's hair at the time. The shot is supposed to mimic Jeff running off into the distance in present day.

It's made obvious by the fact that the shot you're referencing is from A Day in the Life, and Jeff was wearing a white shirt during those events while Evan was wearing a black one.

I swear, it looks like they're having a "I'm going to go (someplace) for a little while, but I love you and I'll call you" reassurance conversation in the silent clip.

But the necklace Jeff's holding looks like Jessa's hand necklace that she showed off in the Ustream.

The Doc

Long-time reader, first-time poster, and so forth...

Slenderman, the Rake, and now references to Candle Cove and Silent Hill...not that I mind (as I like all of the above), but is EH starting to look like it's losing focus a bit to anyone else? I don't doubt that the guys can pull it off, but it's going to be interesting to see how they pull all of this stuff together for the story's climax. Merging all of these entities in an interesting and fulfilling manner while handling a cast of dynamic and relatively deep original characters is going to be a storytelling challenge.

I'm definitely happy about the idea of reintroducing Damsel into the mix, especially as doing so helps to redeem Jeff as a rational character. I am a little worried about story development regarding her, though, especially given her apparent current location and the game's tendency to jump headlong at any well-known creepypasta elements -- "In any city, go to any asylum or halfway house..."

So I've got a little idea I've been turning around in my head for a few days I've wanted to share with you guys.

I watched the "Slender man" and "Welcome to the ARK" videos again with a friend a few days ago, and something occurred to me.

I don't know if it's been brought up before, but I think that in "Welcome to the ARK," the brief flashes to other / past clips seems to be the actual thoughts of the characters. For instance, at 0:28 when the camera is on Vinny, the video cuts back to what's on his mind: the recent attack from Evan and the encounter with the president of their black-suited fan club.

This showed up again in "Centralia" at 2:50 when Jeff starts running. Vinny is running behind him, and his mind flashes back to their day in the forest and the events that occurred there.

This happens again at 3:35, where Jeff's mind is filled with thoughts about Jessa. Most importantly though, I feel, is at 3:43 when Jeff says "another fucking puzzle" and is followed with Jessa talking to him quietly. It suggests to me that there's something Jessa knows that the guys don't, or it may even be her that is setting up these puzzles.

The last time it happens is with Evan at 4:01 with a bag in the forest, and at 4:10 where Evan says, "I don't know how we're gonna kill--" and it cuts to him on the ground, perhaps after an encounter with their tall admirer.

The biggest part of it for me is that some of these little flashbacks seem more like from the mind of whomever than from a camera. In particular the moment with Jessa and Jeff on the couch; did they really just go and put a camera on the table to watch them talk?

It's just something I've been thinking about, and I thought I'd share it with you guys to throw some more fuel in the fire we're building. Smile

Ahh, looks like everybody covered everything I wanted to. Jeff breaks my heart, Evan is a badass, and Vinnie...well, Vinnie, suck it up, we wanna #savethedamsel!

But on that note. Look at the outfit Vinnie's wearing. The glasses and the plaid sweater/shirt.

That's what he's wearing in Welcome to the ARK.

Guys, we need to work on this:

- flashbacks of Jeff finding a bloodbag during the hiking.

- flashbacks of him and Jessa talking

- flashbacks of Evan rocking back and forth in darkness

Can the guys see this??

Is there a link between all those things?
