 		Now that the Rake is part of this it brings up an older Hypothesis I had up again, SlenderMan isn't really after the humans but something else, he's after the Rake and just uses humans as bait. Attacking Evan in "Ashen Wastes" was more or less self defense and he is willing to kill for his goal (whatever that may be).

Alternatively they could work together as well or one is the "puppet" of the other.

I'm still grasping as to why- we never really know. But what I'm wondering is how Rakey can cut Alex that deeply without the kid immediately waking up to it. Maybe the Rake does something to the boy that keeps him down. Similarly, notice how he put Sparky out of the room, and his cuts were significantly worse than before. Leads me to believe the magical power of Sparky manages to hold the Rake off, or lessen its presence and activity. Boy still got cut, but it wasn't near as bad as what he just got.

He (it) is just playing. See the Rake does not understand that his form of "play" hurts.

Maybe he can mess with human minds (like Slendy seemingly can) but can't do that with animal minds


Another thing, this again shows one of the points where EMH has a potential to be even more creepy than Marble Hornets, we really have a connection to the characters, seeing something happen to them just gets one a lot more.

This actually just occurred to me too. This could be one huge fight over Jeff using the others as both pawns and bait. Which in turn raises the question: Why Jeff?

We need another box then, because I don't think the boys are going to do to well when they stumble on Alex's body nailed to a wall in Jeff's house. And with Jeff's recent behavior it might get pinned on him, or even Evan.

This is working under the impression that Now!Evan and Vince are reincarnated Past!Evan and Vince. So, if they're reincarnated, maybe Jeff is too. But what if Jeff is the reason they keep coming back? What if Jeff has something the monsters want and Evan and Vince are like his guardians? All the people that aren't reincarnated with them (Alex, Jessa, possibly Damsel) are the ones that get hurt because they don't have whatever it is the boys have.

...END SUPER WEIRD WMG.

 		Why is everyone connecting Evan to The Rake? If anything it's Vincent who would have had dealings with it. Let me educate you as to why, mortals.

1. Evan has already had dreams involving the Slender Man, as seen during the sleep study videos.
2. Evan was one of the first HYBRID crew members to show signs of genuine insanity.
3. Slender Man targeted Evan first by breaking into his house and stalking him.
4. Vince is arguably the first to be contacted by a Rake like message, AKA the coordinates in Slushpops and Surprises. This is backed up by the segment in the same video with heavy breathing and the message about tragic heroes.
5. Vince has never had dealings with the Slender Man on a singular level. All of his dealings have been because he was with Evan and/or Jeff.
6. We first saw The Rake in the series while Vince was filming, during "Cops Checked, No Body." In the same video, Vince was coaching Jeff to get the note from the dead woman who we can now safely assume was a Rake victim.
