[STIES] chat session 2010-10-21 transcript

 		There are only a few clues that we have that we are not 100% sure about or know what to do with so we can narrow it down easily.

But from the chat i think, this part:

"Guest1: that scrap of film from the canister
Guest1: a picture of some guys in front of a building, looks like a hangar?
Guest1: and a metal cyilinder with three dots on it
Host: Is there anything inside the cylinder?
Guest1: no it's empty
Guest1: why?
Host: is that everything?
Guest1: i think so
Host: please look again. I believe he may have hidden something that will help us find him"

The scrap of film we know is projected on the wall.
There is a photo at the top of the piture from the print out in STIES.
The only cylinder I can think of was the pen in that picture, not metal though... I don't remember there being any dots on it.

I'm thinking we should be looking for that cylinder.

I am assuming the cylinder is inside the case in the Craigslist adds. I too have been searching all over for the missing item.

I agree that we need to find the cylinder. But what about this picture win guys infront of a hanger... any ideas? I don't think its the picture that's supposed to be two guys carrying a crate.

 		It seems like the only items Josh didnt put up on CL were the ones he told Mysterioso he had found in the cylinder as well as that cylinder..
Understandable as who would want to buy those things anyway? (except of course for the evil forces yet to be disclosed, but ol Josh didnt know about that yet)...
The question I have from this chat is still how does Mysterioso know that there should be something hidden in the cannister by Josh's dad unless he knows Josh's dad, was told so by Josh's dad, or IS josh's dad.
C'mon PM's ... lets get this moving now...

 		As Melodyman mentioned regarding the elusive Mysterio, how would he "know that there should be something hidden in the cannister by Josh's dad unless he knows Josh's dad, was told so by Josh's dad, or IS josh's dad" or Mysterio was present when said object(s) were placed within the cannister by subjects unknown.

I've listened to the braegen file over and over - faster, slower, backwards - checked into golden ratio, morse code, sonar, binary, steganography...
I searched this forum and found most of these ideas mentioned here at least once - not sure what we're missing.

While googling, I came across this site (AudioSparx) that has sound effects, music, etc. You can listen to samples. There is a search feature. I listened to all kinds of sounds trying to find something similar to the braegen file, but didn't find anything close. There are so many - it probably isn't worth it. This is OOG, but when searching dot matrix printer sounds I found this video, which I think is pretty cool. Maybe you've seen it - Bohemian Rhapsody tech style. If you have time, check it out.

I've been thinking more about what Slinky posted regarding the chat and narrowing the clues:

Josh responds to Mysteio's question, "Is there anything inside the cylinder," by writing "no it's empty."

So, we can infer that anything that Josh mentioned in his chat did not come out of the cylinder, but there's something else that puzzles me.
In the chat, and in the prior STIES conversation, or the craigslist postings, were there any objects that strike you (or Mysterio) as being " conspiracy related?"
And yet Josh posted back in May on the Above Top Secret site:

Hey - new to this site. Does anyone know the best way to authenticate something? Like old papers, photos, footage, etc? Are there experts for conspiracy related verifications? Would appreciate the help!"

For what I understand you mean that Josh didn't put all the items his mother left for sale, and some of them may have a "conspiracy look". If so, then we are not giving Josh enough credit, because he is not giving it all to Mysterio, as we were thinking.

About the Above Top Secret post:

In the STIES print out Josh answer to Mysterio request to stop posting publicly, I assume that is about the Above Top Secret site, by saying "See, I have the damn thing. What it is?", making me think that that is one of the items Josh consider having a "consipiracy look", and, for me, that is the footage he talks at the Above Top Secret.

About the photos, I think he is referring to those ones over the wall. (http://forums.unfiction.com/forums/viewtopic.php?p=715178#715178)

But the old papers reference is something that for now I don't understand, the only old papers is the Rocket Poppeteers newspaper with the weird phrase, but that come from Mysterio.

In the chat Mysterio says that some of the items his mother left may have belonged to Josh's father, but the items at the craiglist are mainly female things (maybe the sled and the clock can be consider unisex), so if Josh's father hide some clue somewhere I think it may be in the old papers, the scrap of film and the cylinder.

 		Well, Josh says the scrap of film DID come from the cannister..The picture probably didnt.. but if Josh's dad did hide something else in the cannister as Mysterioso says and its not there now, we will no doubt have to solve the mystery of who removed it.. whateveritis..

As stated earlier it seems that Josh separated the items putting the innocuous stuff up on CL but reserving the mysterious stuff for himself..

 		So the big talk is about this mysterious canister... What if the canister is a cylinder shape and can be used as a cipher? I forgot what it's called but you wrap a strip (film?) around the cylinder that reveals a secret message when wrapped around the cylinder.

Yes! That is it a Scytale Cipher... They keep mentioning cylinder and that is the first thing I've thought of. But we don't have a strip of letters. What do you guys think?

 		...But wait we do we have THESCARIESTTHINGIEVERSAW and it goes vertical. Hmmmm... And that is the strip of film Josh has what if what's inside of the cylinder isn't important but the cylinder itself? Certain size to decrypt a message?

 		I love the idea but I don't think it's right. I made a chart-type thing in Excel to see what combinations it might bring up if it was a scroll/cylinder thing, and I can't see anything that makes sense. Sad
