I still think Linnie is our dead girl from the "no body" video. After all, it seemed to be her bag that was found, which was covered in blood stains, or at least some of the contents of the bag was, such as the powerade bottle.
That'd link up to blood loss from the body of the dead girl.

I agree i think Damsel is dead.

I was saying that I didn't think Damsel is Linnie. Was Damsel still posting or was she away when the "cops checked" video was uploaded?

Yeah, because the Twitter fight between her and Jeff happened after that video came out, if I recall correctly.

So... this adorable song just came on Pandora and all I could think of was Damsel's dismembered family. MLIEMH

Sorry if this has been said somewhere in the last 9000 pages. Just heard this song on the radio this morning. I don't think it's a clue or anything, but with their love of music a lot of the lyrics seemed oddly relevant to Jeff and Jessa. (video link)

Everyman by Guggenheim Grotto

Quote:
if something came your way
certain to be lost someday
like flesh and bone to clay
but something that would take your breath away
would you still let your heart take fire?
let your head go up in flames?
would you still let your heart take fire?
of course you would, you're everyman
you try to hold things no one can

you make a lot of noise
in your tinkerbell disguise
as if that fairy poise
protected you from saying your goodbyes
but you still let your heart take fire
let your head go up in flames
yeah you still let your heart take fire
of course you do you're everyman
you try to hold things no one can
of course you do your everyman
you think you know but you don't understand.

God help everyman
you think you understand.

-----------

Corenthal Connections:

Evan (Dec. 1971: HABIT; killed a nurse and rabbits; took pictures; assumed dead in 1987 letter)

Vince (May 1971: Candle Cove, the "Man" saving him from rapist priest; artistic; assumed dead in 1987 letter)

Jeff (described as a writer in 1987 letter; Corenthal worked at Jeff's elementary school, which burned down and nearly killed Jeff; assumed dead in 1987 letter)

Damsel (???; assumed dead in 1987 letter)

Linnie ("New York attack", feral demon = the Rake; taken "east" by Corenthal, presumably for adoption)

Jesse (Corenthal's niece)

Monster Activity:

Slenderman targets Damsel (murdered family, appeared in dreams from childhood, told her to move North), Evan (appearing in house), Jeff (shrine, Jessa kidnapped/controlled)

The Rake targets Alex (nightly lurking and attacks), Linnie (killed-- assuming she is the Dead Girl)

-----------

WHOA; thank you for this!!

I'm still unsure about the "personal demons"... it sounds as if each character has his personal demon who came alive, but SM and Rake seem to target more than just one, and we still are unsure what other personal demons are, apart from the Candle Cove show...

I think this moves closer to the SH-territory than we realize.

The "personal demons" line was what made me want to organize some notes somehow.

Quoth Corenthal: "Her personal demon is much more feral in comparison to the others. ... I cannot explain the creatures behind my children's misery, but I have a few theories."

So there are multiple creatures, we know that much, but the only ones we've seen have been Slendy and the Rake. Maybe that's it?

There's also the issue of Corenthal being a potentially unreliable narrator. He's describing kids who, you know, murdered someone with a fork, crucified rabbits, and sat playing a room away from a disemboweled priest, as "angels." So who knows how much we can trust what he says?

Additionally, I just realized something... sometime between May 1971 and the 1987 letter, he clearly changed his mind about working with Vince. In the letter about Vince, he said he didn't want to work with multiple children from the town of Ash; in 1981, he's reflecting on a clearly paternal relationship with FOUR kids from the mining town. Something must have changed his mind to convince him to take them all on...

ETA: herp a derp, the third letter is in 1981, not 1987. MY BAD Embarassed

Yeah, in the intervening ten years between the box/bag letters and this one, Corenthal seems to have changed his mind about almost everything he mentioned. He said he didn't want to admit Vince to the children's hospital, and that he didn't want Evan released, but now it seems like he's acting as their (and at least three other kids') protector.

The wikipedia article says "The doctor's own mental health came into question and he is known to have left the facility on good terms, shortly before its closing in the same decade", referring to the 1970s. So that was definitely before this letter was written. Hm.

edit:
@TheGreenFeathers: It's unclear whether Dr. Corenthal's papers are literally referring to the same Vince, Evan, and Jeff (in which case there would probably be some time travel/alternate universe thing going on) or whether they're a completely different set of people.

Today? Probably around 20. And around 4 in 1971. Confused? There are theories.

The cast is, you know, in their late teens to early twenties. It's just that they also seem to have been alive in the 1970's and presumably died sometime before 1981.

No one really knows what exactly is going on, but it seems to have something to do with time-travel, reincarnation, trans-dimensional pocket universes, or some combination of the above.

I know the feeling. I've been lurking for a while, and if I'm gone for a day, I usually have 10 - 15 pages to catch up on... and that's if nothing new has happened. Someone gets a letter in the mail or there's a new tweet or, god help us, a new video, and there can be 20+ pages within hours, easy.

(which is why I'm on here at work instead of catching up at home I am such a bad person)

I think the personal demons the doc refers to are the psychological problems caused by literal creatures. Inner demons is usually the term to say that someone has issues and problems rather than actual possession.

So if we have a letter from 1971 and 1981, could we expect a letter dealing with itty bitty baby Hybrids from 1991 next?
The boys can't be more than 19 or 20, so this would fit (age-wise)
