Thank you for warning. I actually haven't seen it yet, but after I've seen the trailer it was like somebody want to mix District9 with Cloverfield...
Was it really so epigoneous?

If that's a synonym for terrible, then yes.
The trailer leads you to believe that it would be kind of a cross between Cloverfield and District 9, but in reality it's more like Shrubyard and Section 8
such a boring, BORING movie. And the acting is down right terrible.

@gramma, yes, this really looks promising! And well, if there some Myst, I should watch the movie, lol.
@MimiHamburger, now this sounds cool. Bekmambetovs SciFi is not always logical, but always dynamic!
@geezyj Wait, was Monsters actually a child of "Asylum production"? lol
Ah, Asylum, what a memories... Transmorphers, hehe.

nah, I don't think it came from *cringes* Asylum. Even though the movie is bad, it's too good to be an Asylum film.

Battle: Los Angeles looks promising. Hope it won't turn out like Skyline.

How exactly did Myst get into the conversation? Myst should never be in a troll thread.

I'm not very enthusiastic about Battle: LA because of link removed review of the script for the movie. OK, that review is probably based on an early draft but the main problem (sending just one platoon into a city overrun by fierce and countless aliens for no apparent reason really) seems to have made it into the final production. I like a little logic in my SciFi movies, that's why I liked "Moon" pretty much for example and am pretty much looking forward to Duncan Jones' upcoming project "Source Code" (a review of that one can also be found at name removed . He even had a link to that actual script. I read it and liked it a lot. )

It was not all that bad, just not what one would expect with the title: "MONSTERS"
I saw it on VOD over a month ago.
Shot for under $15,000, and with NO SCRIPT!! the actors ad-libbed their lines, and I thought much of the dialog was very funny.
Most of the movie seemed to homage other films: i.e. Cloverfield, War of the Worlds, Jurassic Park, African Queen, etc ...
I wouldn't exactly say "Skip it."
It was worth the $15 bucks I paid for me and my friends to sit around and eat popcorn and pizza, and drink beer.

Interesting. Is the "Source code" made after W. Gibson novel?
