No, I don't think so, Kosmo. The subject of the movie isn't really Gibson-esque either. I'd rather call it P.K. Dick-ish. Deals a lot with questions like "what is real/what is my identity/what is identity in general/am I lord of my own identity and fate". The twist halfway through the script is cool and the second twist towards the end is just cruel but brilliant.
But it's funny you mentioned Gibson. I stumbled across name removed when I was looking for a site where I could read some scipts and learn how to do it. I wanted to write a Gibson adaption myself. I'm not gonna tell what story it's based on, though .

Reality issues a la Philip K. Dick is also great stuff. I think such themes are eternal, so the movies about such topics are also outer time.

Actually, the link removed script-link is still up and running over at name removed. I thought he (had to take) took it down. So, mayor spoilers for that movie available over there. As far as I could tell (and I read almost every news about that movie) it follows the mentioned script.
That movie is on post-production already and no hype has started yet. It's kinda strange. A Jake Gyllenhaal-vehicle without hype? Back to Donny Darko days? Don't know what to think of the marketing for this one.
Another burner imo, Clint Mansell wrote the music. I think he's a genious at movie-scores. Loved his work on "The Fountain" and he worked with Duncan before, on Moon.

Very interesting! I like this sujet. Actually I don't really like "Dejavu" with Denzel Washington because of lack of logic. But this movie seems to have it! I hope it will be made. And also I'll follow the blog. He's cool.

About a German ARG - this time it's TV channel SWR, they are making a scifi miniseries "Alpha 0.7" (this sunday at 22:40 they broadcast the first episode). But they are going transmedial with TV series, radio play and ARG online. Here is the trail site:

SWR heading into ARGish territory? LOL, it's kind of a flea jumping onto an elephant. Too bad that here in Bavaria I don't have SWR on cable. Well, maybe another way to get to see it (SWR's website?). I'll read on on the forum you suggested to see if the show is any interesting.
And for Source Code... it is made. It's already in post. So, they finished legal, shooting and stuff. Right now it's editing, CGI, compositing and sound (and all that magic). Possible release-date could be January through summer 2011 in my opinion. There is very little news about the actual progress of the film as of now, except that it's done principal shooting.
BTW, backslash to the topic "MONSTERS": anyone interested in seeing Guillermo Del Toro's vision of "Beyond The Mountains Of Madness"? I sure fucking am. That would be a dream movie for me to come to life.

Oh yes, Del Toro's Lovecraft should be pretty awesome.

And yes, I also was surprised about SWR doing ARG, hehe. Respect for them.
Btw, you can see this series later at MDR, ARD, Einsfestival and arte. So the possibilities are here. I actually saw the first three episode at one press presentation. I'd say, it's fresh for German TV. And subversive. No more talking heads, and pretty authentic. I wonder, how it will be received by German public.

Ahh, glad to know it will be broadcasted on "broadwalk-german" TV later on. Kinda curious. After all, we Germans will never be able to watch "The Walking Dead" in all it's G(l)ory on TV.
Another Del Toro- thought: I wished Del Toro could have done The Hobbit. I personally would have preferred it over another Jackson- directed version of "it".
I do respect Peter Jackson for what he has done, though. His infamous (earlier) works were great. But I dislike him a lot for what he did/let do to Gimli and Legolas (-relation) in LOTR. The Hobbit would die with any such significance. I hope Jackson will be more "serious" throughout fighting scenes with The Hobbit. If that is possible at all with an origianl story for kids.

I didn't think it was bad at all. It was mostly a love story instead of an action packed monster movies. The title definitely threw some off.
Source Code looks awesome. And confusing.
