One thing that has always bugged me, though, are these blogs/ARGs that presume to take place in the same universe as others without necessarily asking permission of the other blog/ARG... I don't know, maybe it's just me being nitpicky, but they also tend to adopt an attitude of condescension about it, like "I know about these folks and they don't know what they're doing, they're doing it wrong", etc. Do you know what I'm saying? For instance, the rules of Nightcrawler's universe (where magnetic disruption works, etc) don't necessarily apply in the EMH universe, but by namedropping Evan and the crew he is implying that they do inhabit the same universe, so by all rights it does work there. I hope this is making sense...

It worked with EMH only because the story began as a self-aware spoof of MH, and even then they only ever rarely mentioned it (I can remember them doing so maybe once or twice).

Yeah, I agree with you, Mira; if I had a Slendy story on the market, I'd kinda be pissed off at all the self-righteous one-upping that goes on between stories. It'd be nice for a couple of folks to come to agreements OOG, and compile a universe. Hell, and maybe even do crossovers occasionally.

Looks like the other two squads Nightcrawler was waiting on aren't quite dead. Also, is this suddenly getting kinda...not awesome? I think it is getting to be not awesome.

I don't mind blogs being in the same universe, because to me it gives that feeling of, "shit, we're all in this together". I do agree with the condescending, though, that's not a good thing. Though I guess opinions will differ.

I don't think it's getting not-awesome. It's a great attempt to switch genres. It's not frightening, but it's a creative take on the source material.

Shaun over on Testing 1, 2, 3 has pretty much confirmed M is alive and well, though he hasn't been able to post. So, Nightcrawler didn't get him, I think.

Nope. He's alive and well. Just posted recently, in fact.

Oh.

Oh, dear. That's disturbing news. Looks like Nightcrawler's picking off bloggers, specifically. Didn't think anyone running the other blogs would go along with it, but, it's looking like they are. Someone attempting to end all of these different series? We've seen enough action on the Testing 1, 2, 3, Tutorial, and other blogs to see that things are coming to a head. Maybe this is some collaboration between all the different blog-PMs to say 'you guys can decide which way this ends.' Although, Nightcrawler seems like he's been kind of shoehorned in, if that's the case...

Spoiler (Rollover to View):
Robert
didn't die. In his Core Theory about how Slender Man works, Slendy acts like a monster from legends/myths, due to him being created from our belief. According to the structure of these myths, three individuals will rise up to fight against the monster: A Warrior, a Guardian, and a Hero. In his last post,
Spoiler (Rollover to View):
Robert
accepted the role of Guardian, and went to Slendy's world/dimension/home/whatever so he could protect the weapon which the Hero would one day use to slay Slender Man.
That's a very, very condensed version of
Spoiler (Rollover to View):
Robert's
theory; you'd need to read the rest his blog for a more in depth explanation. I'd recommend it, as it's a theory which has been gaining popularity lately.
