If you don't have any video game related tattoos, I win, sir. Very Happy

Robin Williams named his daughter after Princess Zelda. He wins.

I named by cat Xelda. I get second place.

You're awesome, video games and books are awesome.

Out of your list I've played Bioshock, Jak & Daxter, L4D, TF2, Dragon Age, RE, and Portal. I just got an xbox a couple of months ago (I've already had my PS3 and Wii for a while) but it's in the common room of my suite at college, so I don't get a lot of time to play it. I have Gears of War 2, Halo: Reach, and Alan Wake, but I'm too poor to afford anything else at the moment. Also, Phoenix Wright and Professor Layton games are cool, too.

I'm ashamed to have never read Ender's Game, but I am a super nerd and I'm really into science fiction/fantasy. Also H.P. Lovecraft.

Last summer I got a new cat, but my parents kept rejecting all of my silly video game-related names. So I called her Zoey, after the L4D character. :3

semi-unrelated, but we named our cat, Kat... (okay, it's short for Katrina, because we found him after the Hurricane)

I just finished playing through Fable 3 twice, and I'm gonna be getting the new Assassins Creed Tuesday. I'm kinda waiting on the wii right now, as besides Epic Mickey nothing's really catching my eye. I currently own an ass ton of gaming books, mostly stuff like World of Darkness or Chthulhutech, which you should own by the way, and Eclipse Phase. My english degree sort of solidifies my literary nerd-dom though. Sci-fi/Horror FTW!

Nice to know I'm not the only geek here! I have two video game tattoos myself (Silent Hill and Half Life related). I'm also a total music and book nerd.

Aww shit. I never ever finished Kingdom Hearts. I always get really far and forget to save it or I fuck something up and get really pissed and start all over.
And I refuse to play Silent Hill even though it looks really awesome.

Dude, that's what the guides are for! Although I still can't beat Sephiroth in either game he's in... Crying or Very sad
Silent Hill has almost cost me my life, literally. Screaming wildly in the backseat of a moving vehicle will make the driver swerve. The more you know!

My Bachelor's is in Videogame Development. I'll be making one from scratch in the next couple months, once the pitch gets approved.

Demos, pls? Haha.
I've got the Nobody symbol from Kingdom Hearts II. Embarassed My zombie bite kind of counts, too, as it's my BFF tat with my heterosexual life partner, and the only design we could agree on was something zombie-based, due to our hours of playing L4D.

I once had a cat named Kat, but it was short for Katamari. Very Happy

And since we're talking about books, I need recommendations. I've been reading a collection of short zombie stories lately, but after that, I've got absolutely nothing unread on my shelf.

You all make me feel rather ungeeky. Not much of a gamer... But i've read almost any science fiction, fantasy, or horror story i can put my hands on. And watched way more movie then is probably considered healthy. In highschool, i went through a book a day. When i started working, i did a movie a day because i didn't have time to read.

Dixie- what do you like in when it comes to reading?

Pretty much anything, so long as it doesn't involve sparkly vampires or Barbara Kingsolver.

I really like Chuck Palahniuk, Anne Rice, & Dean Koontz. Of course, House of Leaves is to my liking, as is The Dante Club by Matthew Pearl. Basically, if you think it's good, tell me what it is, I'll put it on a list, and read a few pages at the bookstore to see if I'm gonna like it or not.

Look up Demon Theory by Stephen Graham Jones.

It's.. well, i want to say it's inspired by HoL. Though that may not be the case.. but the style kinda echoes it. It's very hard to describe. It's written as.. not a script, but something like that. A narrative storyboard? for a horror trilogy. with footnotes the whole way. (i hate the paperback, for moving the footnotes all to the end.). It's one of the few books that after i finished, i had to spend a couple days digesting, and then reread.

I'll definitely put it on the list. If it's got re-read value, that puts it higher up in my considerations.

well, i can reread almost anything that's above average- but yes- demon theory is one of those books where reading it after you've read the ending, you pick up on details and things you missed the first time around.

I'll probably have another suggestion after i get some sleep.

William Gibson's Neuromancer is worth picking up if you like any kind of Cyberpunk/Mind Fuckery. H.P. Lovecraft's stuff is all online for free if you know where to look, hmmmmm....., I actually need to find something genuinely horrorish to read my self. I've read a few suspense novels in the last year, Jeffery Deaver and Stieg Larsson, but no real horror. I need to fix that...
Also @Sitic: I'm glad I'm not the only one that can read a book a day, my family thinks I'm crazy because I read the Wheel of Time series from 1-9 inside of three days.. notably I had a lot of time on my hands that week.

I generally don't like to do more then one book a day- too much to process. I could if i was really bored though.

If you want.. nerd/horror/humor- Charles Stross's Laundry Series would work. The setting: Magic is just a complicated and obscure branch of mathmatics. Thus making programmers and the like some of the most competent to handle it. Of course, anyone who discovers this is recruited by a supersecret government agency. Hilarity, with a side order of eldritch horror, ensues.

I'll never look at office politics the same way.

About to watch Jacob's Ladder, then I might have to end the auditions for my Project, much to the dismay of some people. D: Maybe this movie will give me ideas, though. =D

Dude, the train scene is one of the most unsettling things. I watched Jacob's Ladder before I heard about Slendy; and it gave me the same fear. Albeit in a smaller dose.

Hehe; I stopped playing videogames. Dunno why. I much prefer stuff like ARGs and...well, maybe a bit of roleplaying as well. I got my World of Darkness GM onto the Slender Mythos. Very Happy
