[Spec-Humor] The Value of Taupe...

Okay, It's just begging to be asked, so I'll ask it :)

What's the general consensus for the value of Tangerine?

100,000?

Million?

And what of Taupe, for that matter?

I just wonder what type of "vid" was playing on the chip, this being a casino and all Laughing

Yeah, but with inflation, that's only like 2 dollars in 2552 or whatever...
Laughing

I actually saw it as something less valuable. That obviously everything he had was more than 10K, since he was directed away from that limit table. However, it's also apparent that he had more than a couple chips. So either Kamal is now THE RICHEST MAN ALIVE, or he's got a million or so total, but not in one chip.

Ok, I'm going way too far on that irrelevant spec... sorry kids. Wink

edit: Sorry... my guess is that Taupe is worth $25K

It was 20% of what the 'crew' had stolen from him, but the manager then offered him 30% if he would keep them going.

I get the impression that the story doesn't take inflation into account. Staying in story, that could be explained by a re-evaluation of the dollar.

Ex.
The government prints a totally new set of bills/coins, where 1 new dollar = 10000 old dollars. Citizens are encouraged to trade in for the new currency, and over time the old currency is phased out. In that manner, they could prevent citizens from having to deal with gigantic numbers in financial transactions.

But, really, I think they just kept values we, the players, would understand easily. A table with a $10,000 limit still sounds like that's a fair amount of money. And if one chip is higher than that... well, that's QUITE a bit of money.

And also considering that when he tried to cash out, the nice lady at the counter was going to get a couple crates and a dolly. Sounds like he's got a armored car's load of cash out of this deal.

Of course, this depends on the size of the bills, but thats still a lot of money.

Unless *gasp* the value of the taupe chip was one crate! and the tangerine chip is valued at one dolly!

Each tangerine chip might be worth.... a tangerine.

Remember the 'value' placed on a tuna sandwich?
