[spec]Chord progression? So i had this crazy dream last night that the sounds presented to us in the Braegen14 file were just an abbreviation of a chord progression for the Rocket Poppeteers song.....
This is a long shot and no one mentioned this before - but perhaps the notes we're hearing should be played slower, as in the background chords for a full song. We'd need the other instruments and percussion of course, but this could be the start.
Again, we won't find out until we get more clues, but i figured i'd lay it out there.
My crazy dream had the lyrics similar to "There's nothing like the Rocket Poppeteers!"

I sure not hope so.
Anything musical containing intervals of 1-8-0 can't sound good. It's just not esthetical to the human ear.

Not played together, the way the chords sound throughout the song. AppleJuice laid out some chords here:

I don't have enough music theory to test this out, i just had the dream, then the page opened up!
Can our musical friends confirm/disprove that the notes played on the Braegen14 file are the chords for the Rocket Poppeteers theme song?

Was thinking about the chord progression idea (before I read this thread and then found this, but anyways) The above poster may be on the right track I'm thinking. Would probably need someone more musically inclined to test it and figure out the exact chord progression, but putting in the notes of C# F# C# G# C Eb Eb G# into google that another poster had figured out earlier in the thread it led me to this song
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LUb2yfoVbUw.
Now putting aside the exact notes of what was in the Braegen14 folder and thinking of them as Chords, if you listen to the first 24 seconds, it does sound fairlyy similar.
So while this may not be the exact song, perhaps rather than trying to figure out a code in the notes themselves, perhaps there is a certain song we should be looking for?

The reason that luck old sun comes up is that it contains SOME of those chords, but not that chord sequence. It's just google closest fit (from the tab). And it doesn't really sound like the expcnv file.
Second, I don't quite understand what you mean by "putting aside the exact notes of what was in the Braegen14 folder and thinking of them as Chords ". Someone correct me if I'm wrong but aren't the two fundamentally related . I'm guessing the point of the chord argument is using them as roots(?or identifying common scale, maybe a song), but you can't construct a chord by forgetting about the notes, it's an oxymoron.
And I don't yet see the advantage/point of taking this deliberately neat sequence of frequencies (phi) and compound it with further unnecessary complexity.. Trouble is we don't know what to do with what we have

Yes, I'm aware it's not the exact same for the song, was mostly posting it to illustrate my point. And what I was trying to say is as far as the notes, perhaps not trying to think of them as single tones. When you play a chord you get all the notes together and it has a distinct sound different from the notes that make it up. Was mostly just an idea that I had, and might not lead to anything...but it can't hurt to try.

Equalizer I wasn't sure where to post this -- thought it might relate to the Braegen14 sound clip.
This is probably OOG, but I saw it in the display case in the center of Olsen's camera and hifi shop (Lillian). It's a Heathkit ad-1305 equalizer. I know nothing about equalizers and how or why they are set in any particular way. Just thought I'd post it in case it has any meaning to someone who has a clue.

Equalizer Looks similar to a (non-Heathkit) equalizer I bought in the early 80s that still works great.
All I know is mine just works wonderful for tweaking the bass through treble throughput for my both channels of my amp.

I'm afraid they can't. No worries. It's a lesson learned. Truth is hardly any stone is left unturned in this forum.

sup3rvIII;
Welcome!
Just for your info, the "Game Summary" and the Cliff Notes "Quick Summary until 17th November" thread are a good place to get up to speed, and the "search" function is a useful tool, though it can be somewhat unwielding.
Anyway, keep those cards and letters coming!

Hi again moon_smoker...what's got your "Grrrr!" going about that picture?
As you probably noticed it's from me. I posted it over two months ago while Main St. Lillian was still in town. What earlier picture are you talking about?
