if people cant figure it out, as was the case with .jp, Flynn Lives is gonna have to throw us a bone. problem is, they can't wait 2-3 weeks to send out a second hint like last time.

How did they toss the hint out?

I keep thinking that the puzzle is similar to the original stages in that the both pictures put together are clues for another game, but that doesn't make any sense because there wouldn't be any place to input the answer

This is difficult. I know I'm over thinking it, though. It's probably really obvious and I just can't figure it out

Some corresponding clues are really similar though -- like "duel" and "bulletproof," "beast" and "wolf"...

1- lands on the blue SUV above 50cent in my image. 50 cent is arguably barely in the circle. The top is about as likely.
2. home run only half in circle. Circle also includes a flynnlives poster.
3. Could be pool shark, but equally likely to be tetris.
4. Both operation wolf and dragon's lair, but looks like more wolf than lair.
5. both Prey as well as half of malice are included.
6. chuchu rocket
7. 720
8.eeeeeeyea that's just barely tigerheli, it looks like. Not a whole lot else it could be.
9. also looks like it's excitebike, barely excluding pacman.

Dunno if this helps at all- probably not, but figured it would be worth doing myself as well as relying on someone else. I zoomed to 127% on acrobat reader, which may be ~1% too small, but otherwise seemed about right, then just kept alt clicking between windows.

the encomgames.jp puzzle was a fiasco that extended 40 pages long. people thought the codes were from 30 year old computer punch cards and at least 5-10 times people said it was braille, without even reading the previous parts of the thread where we ruled that out

Overthinking an otherwise simple problem happens often around here.

This should not be overly complex, and should not require arcane knowledge and off-the-wall mechanics.

Once we solve this, I'm guessing we'll have a collective face palm... Answer is staring us in the face, but we're overengineering a solution.

so is this the confirmed list:

1- 50 Cent Bulletproof
2- Home Run
3- Pool Shark
4- Operation Wolf
5- Prey
6- Chu Chu Rocket
7- 720
8- Tiger Heli
9- Excite Bike

The only one I am significantly disagreeing with is pool shark, which I think is equally likely as tetris. Otherwise I'd agree with the rest.

they sent a 5th and 6th postcard out to a few film-related sites with more parts of the code on them

Robbie, I'm goign to try to duplicate what you did, just to confirm. I don't want another encomgames.jp all over again where we ended up needing a hint because the incoming data was too much garbage.

Go for it. I'm pretty confident, but I don't want people to take my word for it and I definitely don't want to be the reason we go down the wrong path. If I made a mistake, please correct it!

The discussion forums are talking about where they think Sam is and what he's up to during the holidays. Perhaps we should be looking at inputting ideas into the Sam Tracker again?

I was thinking the same thing...it's all about "where is sam"...

Again, I think that pool shark should be tetris. Could you double check that one?
