No, ARPA is real. It evolved into DARPA, and there is the new branch, ARPAE (which I work on). Not involved with the game, trust me.

It's a little garbled though.

Edit: It only seems to be in the landscape.evolution file. Couldn't hear it in the book tour one.


One sounds like "Can't be bought" but it's garbled even when I turn it up. I'm going to see if I can find my headphones.

Arpa.net was the first internet project of sending packets of information across the U.S.

It was originally called Darpanet when the gov't was running it.

That is all I know about that.

The significance...

?

ARPA evolved into the internet. I think that's all it really means.

Flynn Frontier contains a lot of Flynn backstory, including information about three of his books:
* The Digital Frontier: Mapping the Other Universe
* Structure and Dynamics in Advanced Computer Programming: Existence in the Digital Realm
* Digital Gaming: Programming Tomorrow's Arcade Classics

The Excerpts page provides copies of the three books' jackets, which viewable excerpts. Each excerpt page (except the last) has regions that when moused over, produce an audio clip from Kevin Flynn himself.

The jackets are each labeled with a product code, which are in fact UPC-A barcodes that decode to three unique numbers:

Returning to http://helloflynn.com these three numbers can be entered to retrieve new files.

There's also binary on the Digital Frontier book cover. Not sure if it's readable, or if it amounts to anything.

 		shot in the dark. i was looking at the chapter 7 stuff on helloflynn. there is a texture on the pages that make it look like a xerox copy...perhaps its more than that...maybe a complement to the solar sailor pic a la identity raid?
