I could talk for days too.
I wasn't sure I was honestly awake for a few hours. In my nightmare, my friend called me screaming and sobbing and telling me how she basically wanted to die. It went on for hours in my dream. When I finally started getting though to her, she stopped talking to me and this voice came on the phone say something along the lines of "Emily's (my friend) not here any more. She's gone. Emily isn't here". Pretty much the voice sounded like a really sinister version of Him from the Powerpuff Girls. This is pretty much how I imagine any kind of voice Slendy sould have.
But yeah, I wasn't sure I was awake until I saw her alive and happy in the hallway and talked to her.

Sorry. But it's been like 2 days without and update. Speculation starts to run wild.

And i'm trying to keep the thread at least mildly on topic.. but since i generally avoid confrontation, rather then yelling at people to go post in the OT thread, i try to post speculation to get the conversation back on track.

 		Has anyone heard from Jessie recently? If something did happen(Alex got rake'd), she would probably be able to tell us before the guys would...assuming they're busy dealing with the stuff(read: blood and what not)

Nah it's cool. I actually think that's kind of a crazy awesome crazy theory. I keep coming up with my own crazy theories, but they're a bit too weird to post most of the time.
I propose everyone in this thread keep a list of their own crazy theories/speculation, and then we can all post and laugh at them all when we hit endgame.

But yeah, uhm... I just remembered something from that video where they were pushing the car. Did we ever find out if that was actually given by a little girl to give to Evan or just part of the show?

edit: sorry about the off-topicness, but i think it is somewhat relevant to this game. the females are designed to give information and to be used against the main males in order to further the plot. there's not really anything wrong with that, as it could easily be the other way around (or non-heteronormative), but it's interesting to think about how this impacts the way we view the game and our level of immersion in it.

edit edit: yay for feminist slendystory! i wrote a short bit of prose about a female being stalked by slendy, but it was in first person pov and as such, most people think it was a male narrator. ah well.


Apparently the reason that whole "final girl" thing got started back in the day is that you could show a girl actually stupid out of her mind terrified and the audience would empathize with her terror. A male character behaving in the same way wouldn't be taken seriously/would be thought of as a coward or unmanly, so the audience wouldn't identify with him, and therefore the movie would be less scary. Or something

Honestly, as for why we have no female main characters in the video Slenderman stories, well... look at the kind of comments Jessa was apparently getting about her looks, and she's beautiful. Posting video of yourself on the internet, especially with the specific fanbase that SM has, is really, really putting yourself out there for a lot of folks being complete jerks about your looks, etc. I know I personally wouldn't do it, no matter how awesome my theoretical SM story idea might have been.

 		On the subject of everyone's favorite wild-card, Evan.
Most people seem to group his personality and responses into a cohesive whole, whereas from the start I've had a hard time putting them as all "Evan". The break seems to occur before the whole Corenthal and HABIT additions, so when he first showed weird behaviors, the first thing I thought was that a super/seperate personality much like totheark was going to happen. Once HABIT got introduced, it's been even harder to consider Evan's "crazy" moments as the real Evan. It seems like a seperate personality to me.
One thing is certain, that Evan, as himself, wants to kill Slender Man. It flows perfectly with his other character cues- I'd apportion this, against the "threat" and actual events, as a classic "I've been struck, I will fight" response, not just general if subtle craziness. Furthermore, he's clearly trying to protect not only himself but his friends.

My inner rampant feminist says grr, but I get what you're saying. I personally would be willing to make a slender series about myself but I could see why others wouldn't.

I'm kind of with you there. I'm going back over the videos this weekend, but I don't have any specifics at the moment. I do recall getting the impression from some of the "behind the scenes" stuff that Evan was a lot...less aggressive, I guess, when he was off camera and not playing Evan the Hybrid. I think one of the big tells for me was the way he acted at the end of "Day in the Life", although that might now be explainable by some lingering memories of their surprise trip to the shore.

Remember the rampant speculation that Evan was holding a knife on Vince during the introduction to "Joke's Over"? That seems to have been mostly forgotten now, and was pretty much debunked anyway, but it does suggest that people were feeling a character change at some point.
