Maizan brought up a good spec, though about validation. Perhaps the next update will have new pages, still with wav files, but some unlocked by more roaming/axon spike phone calls. This would open up the list to the unconfirmed officers and to new officers, too.

I feel so... robbed... I have followed this from the start and I've gotten 2 axons in UT (was not easy) and I miss one day of ilovebees and look what I miss!!! I really want to be Sgt. Kiffers... [tear] Crying or Very sad

Well anyway, my opinion is that the "Rogue Proc." was the PF to the Widow, and now the "Rogue Proc." is SP to Melissa. Get what I mean?

Also I think that the SP story of Perdita is about HERSELF and DANA. I first thought that the clock rat was PF and Perdita was SP or Dana but then I realised what if the CW-R (rat) was SP and Perdita was Dana. It makes sense, Perdita didn't trust the CW-R [Dana didnt trust SP at first] it then gained her trust. There are many more simularities but I don't have much time at the moment. Let me know what you thnk. If this is true then dana IS or will be in trouble like the story ends... Lets save Dana ppl!

Oh and if anyone finds another UT axon let me know... Wink

peace out-

P.s. I personaly believe that ppl who give there names to Melissa will be seen or mentioned in the game... why not???! Dunno

Baby steps, folks. You don't want to scare off M with too much info too soon.

While I respect an oath to secrecy, do bear in mind that this is an ARG, and one of the Ten ARG commandments is to share your info/solves.

As far as, can M trust us?... we are lying through our teeth to her about being crewmembers. Everything said in character is facade. Man, and that gets trickey fast. It could blow up in our faces if we wait to tell her about all we know, but what do we say?

"Yeah, you're broadcasting your 'confidential' recordings across the Internet for everyone to see, we've seen everything you are hiding from us, and we've known for three months that you are virus infected...oh, and you are an imaginary character from a marketing campaign."

On a seperate note, I just realized that [SPEC] maybe M isn't hiding SP's wavs from us because she doesn't trust us...maybe she just doesn't want to have to break it to us that Reach has been obliterated?

Interesting.

Well, if she was sitting there with a list of forum nicks (at http://forums.unfiction.com/forums/viewtopic.php?p=75244&highlight=roster#75244
archon mentioned that she was looking over a "roster"), then it's possible she had me confused with The Adam:

I don't think we will get special mention. It would anger a lot of other dedicated beekeepers and estrange those who must support the "selected crew" through the rest of the game.

The game is not over by any stretch of the imagination, and to date, I've contributed useful SPEC to exactly ONE puzzle. (I always seem to be unavailable on #beekeepers when the puzzle solving is going on)

More likely that, as a group, we'll get mention in the credits. They could have already added the line today, since it's a "group mnemonic" rather than individual names.

Verifying Crew Members

krystyn wrote:
I could also get R. from the axon I was at to vouch for me, since I believe he's now registered at this forum.

It seems as though it's only ilovebees.com that seems to be 'official' at this point, though. And so, it's only the peeps listed with the special 'seeking' axons.

Fact: We have six crew members verified by Melissa whose names appear on the 'official' site.

Fact: We have maybe a dozen or more others who claim to have spoken to Melissa and been verified as crew.

Fact: We have maybe another dozen who claim to have spoken to Melissa and been rejected as crew.

Fact: We have others who claim to have been present during others' conversations with Melissa as corroboration.

Fact: We have detailed stories of success and failure from these individuals.

Fact: The confirmed six have reported that Melissa will be contacting them next week by phone.

Fact: Some of the other crew have been asked for phone numbers as well.

SPEC: Next week Melissa will contact her crew by phone - not just the six, but others as well.

SPEC: The contents of the call will be known only to those who receive it, until such information is disclosed here or on IRC.

This leads me to believe that crew receiving calls from Melissa can verify themselves to demonstrating knowledge of the call they could not have obtained otherwise.

Any of the six of us could presumably evaluate the stories and verify the crew roster. I think this information will benefit the community in a way which justifies temporary partial withholding of the contents of the calls next week.

Thoughts?

Sounds good to me and I think it would work fine. TuxKamen, for example, has proved himself fairly well to me by relating some of his story to me that was not shared publicly. Could have just been a really good guess, but probably not.

I was alone at my axon, but Ensign Krystyn says that Melissa mentioned me in THEIR conversation. If she could be verified, she could then verify this story.
Embarassed Sorry, I just want to be included. It's too darn cool...

I can understand doubting some people, but doubting a moderator? What's the likelyhood of a moderator like Krystyn lying?? What does she have to gain? Question Question

In a game like this, everything should be doubted until proven.

We don't know, for example, who the "good guys" are in this scenario. We don't know whether we should be helping Melissa, the Princess, the Flea (!evade !evade) or none of them.

But tapjeep, just so you know, your radical theories about trusting moderators have occurred to others as well.

Hey folks, R. here. first post on the unforums- but I've been lurking for a good while since the game started.

I don't have much sleuthing to offer, but I figured I would come in and verify that Krystyn did in fact receive a live call, because I was there with my friend Matt to answer it myself. I had just been running a few minutes late from work, and Krystyn was there waiting already Smile

I registered on the forums shortly after our meeting, as you can probably see. So this account was not made after this debate was initially brought up.

You may visit my website at www.are-are.com to verify my existence if you like.

Sorry to jump back to slightly earlier topic in this thread, but is there any reason the "rogue process" Melissa refers to isn't Dana?

(I don't think this is trout; there's been only one other post in this thread that mentions Dana, but the author never said Dana could be the rogue. Then again, I could have missed something. Trout me if you need to.)

Melissa has had it in for Dana for quite a while; that's why Dana left the country in the first place, right? Melissa knows Dana was watching her (spying), and trying to wipe her off the ilovebees.com site (betrayal).

How about this: can the next person who talks to Melissa just *ask* her about the rogue? Get a name, or a description, or something. It would be incredibly informative to know how Melissa perceives any of the other things we're used to seeing.

Melissa might be a little off her rocker since the flea started influencing her, but I think she still realizes that Dana is a real, flesh and blood human, not a computer process.

The rogue being the sleeping princess makes the most sense. SP is the one sneaking around the castle, the one the queen is chasing. The flea is hanging out with the Queen, and she's taking cues from him/it.

*sigh*, really, both the Flea or the Princes being the rogue process make the most sense... Flea was already referred to as a rogue process, and Melissa sensing something is wrong makes sense, even though she doesn't put two and two together that it's the Flea who is guiding her, not herself. There is also the chance that she might be referring to the princess as the rogue, but that's the lesser possibility in my books...

Nah, I think she's referring to the SP.
