What if Jeff sent the card? What if Jeff has known all along about what was going on with his brother and was doing nothing but observing...in a way to possibly find Jessa.(As in, the Rake might lead him to her)

And he just sent Evan the card in a way to half-ass help Alex..but still preserve his "innocence"?

I mean, Jeff lives there and all...

First thing I thougt when I saw the phone was that the Rake got Vinnie. Another thing we learned: I want Evan. He would be the bestest big brother ever. I have a lady boner for him. :3 Secondly, this video was a combination of creepy and hilarious. Thirdly, Alex is a little slow on the uptake, but it was a literal lol for a while on that one.

Is it just me, or was the video blacking out every once in a while? I think it started during the security camera footage, so I thought it was due to that. But I definitely noticed it when Evan went into the closet. Perhaps there's a code in morse there, unless it was just the fault of the feed.

Also, I like the way they used the humor a bit. Evan being Evan, he probably thinks himself something of a professional monster hunter expert, Jeff is out of it and Alex has been dealing with this for a while, so I think the somewhat subdued reactions seem perfectly natural. And I like the tonal shift when the Rake speaks, I know I jumped nearly out of my seat when I heard that. I'd be interested in hearing any thoughts as to what is being said exactly.

That sounded like something saying "Ryan" to me. It also sounded like Jeff's voice, but I chalk that up to post-production.

Jeff seemed awfully blase which slightly jarred MY IMMERSION!!!111 With things Really Happening this time, though, I suppose things would feel a little off.

Hilarious line of the week: Cutting from the voice to chains on the door, "well, that should hold it...for a very short while." I wouldn't sleep in that house, myself. That's pure uncut bullshit right there and a bit of a gamebreaker. How does one hide that from the family? Are we operating under the kind of Kids' Horror Movie logic that governed, say, Fright Night or The Monster Squad? Because if we are, okay, but I just want to be sure here.

I don't buy Evan's totally technologically clueless, just a bit of a (cute) jock. He wore that BioShock 2 shirt, I think he enjoys him some XBox. I will refrain from commenting inappropriately on his homoerotic innuendo near the end.

As for Vince. Either his phone has been co-opted by the Rake, or he himself is a slave and has been doing the tweets himself, then got et up. I'm not convinced they all haven't taken turns at that, though, without remembering it. There's a bit of an inappropriate (if fun) mischief to their bit with Alex and Vince's phone at the end that seems like an unconscious response to something they already anticipated, aside from having just found the phone. I'm probably reading too much into it and the moment was strictly for the lulz, but he is their friend and they just found his phone in the monster's lair.

The more I think about it. I really, really think something else is up with Jeff. Between that last hidden video, the last tweet, and this last video...I don't think we can trust him.

I have a real good feeling about this.

Note that the first thing that pops into Evan's mind is that Alex was attacked by a supernatural being. He didn't know anything was happening with Alex until he saw the footage, and he acted as if it was new information (although he took it in stride) when Alex described the Rake for him... he didn't know what it was that was happening for sure until he was told, on camera.

Very much makes sense given what's been happening to the HYBRIDs, but it's interesting to note that's the very first thing that he thought of. Outside of that context, with just that footage to go on, I might have thought of self-injury or something.

Except, seriously, who made that footage and why?

No, I think Jeff's definitely still off. That tweet was strange and made no mention of the Vince issue. And I'm not sure staying in his room will be beneficial to Alex. I think Jeff gets up to shit Jeff's not aware of.

Much too blase. also, I'm seriously considering if Alex was dropped when he was a baby. Not only the phone thing, but just his general "meh" towards the fact that a monster not only lives in his closet but has actually attacked him.
