Sure, the first few waves of players have down shifted into lurk mode but they, and myself as well, probably are still interested in the actual story behind all of this.

My only real gripe with HatShoe is the level of obfuscation about what we are even suppose to be doing at any given time. It kinda makes me feel like I'm perpetually in the ??? phase of the underpants gnome's business plan.

I agree...my feeling lately has been that it's all about correspondence.
I've spent a pretty ridiculous number of hours just staring at those pages thinking I'd find something, but I really think the site is just the setting. The game is asking the right questions in a clear and concise way so that when he responds, you can tell what the hell he's talking about. It also, unfortunately, seems to have a great deal to do with patience.

Speaking of correspondence, did HS ever send anyone the index page? Cuz I haven't gotten anything...

Maybe The page mentioned on the old index somehow got into the hands of the previous "allies" he mentions that can't be trusted?

If this were about correspondence I sure wish he would reply more often.

My first thought about the answer to the Hollywood page was Alan Smithee but that name couldn't be in 85% of films. My next thought would be (Jack) Foley but the dates don't add up and foley is more of a process named after him not something he would be listed under as a "role"

There are obvious typos in some of the pages:
knowbody should be nobody
some one should be someone

And I think the "somk" in utterances is smoke because it makes the more sense than somk.

I think that there's probably a lot of clues that you guys haven't picked up because you seem to focus too deeply on one thing. like with the Astrology idea, that was pretty much run right into the ground, with all of this intricate detail, graphs & charts, oh my! morpheus gets mentioned, & all of a sudden people are thinking dreams, & all that stuff. there's nothing wrong with getting into one aspect of it, but then there's a good 3 pages on just planet stuff, don't you think you're probably missing something? don't you think that there's something else that could be there & you're skipping out because you're looking at the "obvious" clues? I don't think that page titles, & source codes are the only things you should be looking at, but then again, what do I know, right?

as to the "you've all given up too easily" I think that has to do with the fact that a few people kinda complained that nothing comes easily with HS, & then kind of went off to lurk.
