Say, what's been up?

Green Feathers, that was a VERY nice movie you got. Thanks for sharing! Smile

So, Alex got in a date with two girls? Women DO dig scars? Razz

A call? Nothing good comes out of this kind of thing. Look for TT as an example.

(yes, I am just watching now)

Lambertville - he was next to the body with Jeff when it crawled past in CCNB.
The Rake didn't make any noise then. Most likely Vince just watched the last video like everyone else.

I think it was more the heavy "obscene phone call" type of breathing noises it made as it crawled past.

You sure? I just watched it and I swore I heard something.
Heh. Obscene phone call noises - for some reason that made me think back to the painting in Strong Bad's closet (Homestar Runner)
COME ON IN HERE....

Also Dixie, I totally understand. We had a tornado pass through the town next to us a few years back.

Other great moments in EMH - the very end of ". . .". similar to that bit in ep 6, but just that little moment, that door swinging shut, with that sound always gives me the gibblies.

Just wanted to chime in on the oblivious parents of Jeff and Alex. I knew a few guys who lived in two story houses with the master bedroom downstairs where the parents slept, and the kids upstairs. Because the kids were relatively grown and did not require being tucked in or laundry duty, the parents really had to reason whatsoever to even go up the stairs, and didn't. I really don't find it all that unrealistic but that's my frame of reference.

In terms of what Vinnie may have heard, is there literally sound in the clip of him on the phone? I could swear I hear some high pitched bit spike up for about a second and then cut out, but that might just be the insanity chewing away at my brain...

I know I'm gonna be in the majority here but uhm.... Except for the last ten seconds, I didn't like this video.

I mean, I like the characters and I would have liked to see this video in an OOG context (like hosted on a different youtube or something) because I think in conjunction with the other videos, it kind of pulls you OOG pretty hard. As a casual viewer, and as far as the story being told, there's too much 'out of character-ness going on

I like the characters and I adore the series but, for the very end, this video was kind of unnecessary on this channel. It just kind of jolted me back to 'this is a bunch of kids making videos' and kind of, for seven minutes anyway, killed the dark atmosphere that the previous videos built up to so eloquently.

I dunno, I couldn't hear anything. I'll keep listening though.

I liked the video, I did. but you are right.. up until the very end, it kinda killed the atmosphere. But... well, we needed a breather episode.

and yes, we all know what happens after breather episodes.

Note: I strangely think Greenfeathers was almost better than their contribution. Evan discussing slasher stuff... um, he should have caught one of the rants about this not being a game.

I did like how there was a lot of shoutouts in this. And we got to see jessie again, she needs to be worked into this as more of a character.

I don't think this felt OOG. but... it did feel out of place.

I liked this new video for one reason and one reason only. It's normal. Think about this logically now...you're numb to the fact that not one, but two unexplainable supernatural terrors are stalking you and your friends, you're surrounded by crazy people, and there's a very real chance you could die.

...Why not have some fun and a cheese steak?

I wouldn't say this was "out of character", but rather tries to play up that "this is not a game", though I agree with SiticHybrid, in wishing for some of the more interesting dialogue bits that were captured by Feathers, which seem to really make it feel more IG.

However, I think what they were trying to do was catch everyone off guard with the end - make you think this is a breather and then... RIP Ryan, you know? You can debate as to how effective it is, but I understand why they cut it that way.

I don't think it's out of place at all, really. It makes sense that, after all of the terrible things happening recently, that they would want to go somewhere to relax and just have a normal day. You could tell from what GreenFeathers said about the meetup that they really, really didn't want to talk about anything related to Slender Man and acted really uncomfortable/upset about it, which also makes sense.

I think it's nice to just see them doing things and attempting to act normally even when all of this crap is happening. But something even more horrible will probably happen now.

I think it's important that we get to see the guys being themselves, as opposed to depressed, exhausted men following dead ends trying to deal with all of this. I think that's why we all follow this so closely, because we got to see their personalities early on, while lately its been all gloom and despair and rants of insane vengeance, which while I personally like them, it helps to establish that the guys haven't completely lost themselves

@jackofnotrades and you can hear their Dad screaming about who is at the door on "alex".

I think it was a nice video, showing that not EVERY day on their life is surrounded by fear and murder. Just some bits that do the difference.

It's like when every kid ask themselves (or friends): What superman do when there is those odd days where no evildoers is doing evil? It shows that they aren't the guys from supernatural that goes out of their way to hunt demons and whatnot. They are nice guys that are haunted by some evil stuff.

(and they maybe are trying harder not get drowned in all this)

I guess to me it's like... Okay, you're out for a day of fun, and I get that and all, because life goes on, but you have to come home to the house you live in where the upstairs in unattainable because you have a eldritch monster who may or may not have killed your girlfriend locked in a room and who definatly killed and fled from a scarred body you found out in the woods. At some point, 'how you would normally act' gets taken off the table, you know?

Again, I still love the series and I'm still recommending it to my friends when I can, some of the things were just a little jarring.

ETA: Another thing is, about the "We're still kids and we're gonna have fun even though all of this is going on" kind of, to me anyway, diminishes the horror of what's really going on. Like, I dig Marble Hornets because their life is getting jacked from under them and you're gonna see how deep that rabbit hole can go. Here, it doesn't go too deep because you live in a world where you girlfriend is missing and your brother is being stalked by a closet monster, but one day of fun in the woods gently resets all that trauma.

Again, YMMV; this is just how I feel on it and I certainly respect others' opinions and enjoyment Smile

NOTES AND THEORIES AND SH*T

So, between the "raw" notes of my random typings while watching, and the cleaner, more organized notes, I have about seven single-spaced typed pages. (I watched Green Feathers, but didn't really add anything to my notes.)

Here's an example of the "raw notes:"

Sleep Lab Part 2: Dream Log
Evan refers to the camera as "this little thing;" first dream: field, blue skies, "nice," with his grandmother (who is dead), having a picnic; last dream: children in a town, playing, started vanishing until they were all gone, heard them screaming, turned around, in the middle of the woods, screaming louder, "sounded like they were coming from the trees," mentions "bags"; wakes up again at 4:30 with no apparent recollection of his prior dream?; during the recap, he claims he can't remember two of the nights; someone should find out if he can see the recording of his screaming children dream

And one of the "clean notes:"

Misc.
Jeff seems certain that these are clues being deliberately laid out. He's the one viewing it most as a puzzle or game, albeit a rather twisted one. Has experienced a marked personality change, going from outgoing and cheerful to extremely depressed and reserved. He also doesn't seem to have a strong opinion on whether or not this is supernatural or not, though it still seems like he's leaning towards a natural (human) cause. Voted Most in Need of a Warm, Comforting Hug of Friendship.

How would people like these shared? I don't want to WALL OF TEXT the thread, or take over an entire page with just my notes, because that feels a little weird. So, yeah, just let me know. I'm interested to see what people think.
