I'm sorry that other people's enjoyment of EverymanHYBRID, their enthusiasm, their joy, and their participation with yet other people is ruining your experience. Maybe you'd prefer to follow EverymanHYBRID at www.getoffmylawnyoudamnkids.com instead of in a place where other people can be involved.

Anyway, back to on-topic:

"Those noises" that Vince mentions have to be from the Rake, it's in keeping with the Rake's creepy pasta, where that father ended up driving off a bridge or cliff or whatever and wrecking and dying.

Rake = Wreck :p

Probably dumb question: Are there any examples of Slendy affecting non-video cameras?

No, we really don't have a cannon example of SM distortion on things other then video cameras.

But... does that mean it can't happen? Surely phones are at least as complex, if not more so, then a audio/video recording device. And whatever it is about him that distorts said recordings could, in theory, carry over to cause static etc with a phone conversation.

Unless the reason he distorts A/V recording has something to do with the fact it's in a way 'memory'.. since we know SM generally mucks with memory...

I've lately come to like the theory that the reason Slenderman messes with cameras is because they can see. He can somehow imprint himself on the camera (like he can turn people into puppets) and then the camera becomes another set of eyes for him.

If it's just because of 'memory' then he should be able to muck with any sort of permanent record: video, audio, maybe even text.

So perhaps it's an EM thing, affecting all electrical equipment. If that's the case, can we really trust anything?

I like the mental image of slendy swaping out a cd. Because he just really, really wanted evan's cd.

So we can assume that all electronics can be distorted by SM in EMH? so it's still possible that's what 'those noises' were.

Unless, as some suggested, SM is currently nursing some wounds- or is successfully being avoided by damsels method of distraction from him.

either way, poor Ryan. Either Raked or Slendered, things don't look to good for him.

 		I think "those noises" really refers to "car crash noises". Some screeches, a collision noise, maybe some nearby traffic... that could still be a rake attack, given what we've heard of its voice, but that's definitely the sense I got.

Anyways, I really doubt the CD swap and the lights going out in #5 are the real Slenderman. Look at how practiced and hammy Evan's response to the noises was, and the fact they focused on it to begin with, that was part of their initial Slenderman theme. Likewise with him walking up to the basement window, looking down, and killing the lights. That would be easy for them to do, and doesn't really fit in with what we know he does.

That said, the dark shape in the background watching Evan, that's probably the real Slenderman, since they say in the PSA that not all of the appearances are theirs.

I dunno, I took the reaction more as Evan tried to save face after the wierd occurrence totally threw his train of thought. I imagine I'd react similarly if it happened to me, and (at the time) I didn't think some eldritch abomination was stalking me.

If anything the reaction to the lights blowing in the same episode seemed far more rehearsed, and the aftermath they seemed like they were expecting it.

I agree, its definitely "I am [blah]" sounds like it could be "I am IN HERE" or just "I am HERE" or even just "I am AAARGGH!"


I'm inclined to disagree. When I first heard it, I thought I was hearing 'Bryan' or 'Ryan', there's definitely an 'r' sound at the beginning.


Thank you, it would make sense considering The Rake says the name of his next victim. I mean, look who was just in an accident?

 		I'm not so sure any of its real, except maybe the shadow. Early on, all of the dialogue was obviously rehearsed - alot of Vinnie's pacing in the episodes seemed like someone giving a speech in class. I would think that if Evan genuinely got that tripped up they would just try another take - it's only like a 30 second clip after all. Just my opinion, and since they didn't come out and list what sightings were theirs it just adds a level of mystery to it all.

I wonder if they'd still refuse to clarify, I mean at the time I could easily see them all still believing it was a joke (I mean think about it, you and your two buddies make a video series to troll everyone, I'd be really suspicious that they were just trying to get me too if weird stuff started happening), but now that they've come to accept it, maybe they could offer some more insight into what was going on?
